News: We have a new "Welcome Area" here on reenactor.Net. It will show you how to get around and do some of the things we've found need a little explaining... to visit our Welcome Area, go here: http://www.reenactor.net/forums/new_area/welcome_message.html
The Waffen-SS... usually thought of with only hatred and loathing, was more than this. The Waffen-SS was an elite branch of the German military that fought at the front, much like the US. Marine Corps -- in fact, if you ask veterans why they joined the W-SS, they will usually tell you because they were the "fighters" and "tough" an "elite outfit."
The Waffen-SS (German for "Armed SS", literally "Weapons SS") was the combat arm of the Schützstaffel ("Protective Squadron") or SS. In contrast to the Wehrmacht, Germany's regular army, the Waffen-SS was a combat unit composed of volunteer troops with particularly strong personal commitments to Nazi ideology and initially selected on racial basis.
It was founded in Germany in 1939 after the SS was split into two units, but the title of Waffen-SS only became official on 2 March 1940. Although nominally under the leadership of Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, a political and internal security appointee, the Waffen-SS saw action throughout the Second World War under de facto operational control of the Wehrmacht. During the war it grew to 39 divisions, which served as elite combat troops alongside the regular army.
An Elite
If you ask a Waffen-SS veteran WHY he joined, they, without fail, say "They were the fighters, like your Marine Corps!" and that is pretty much how they were regarded then. Now days, people have a different view of the Waffen-SS, but at that time, it was more that they were an elite.

1. SS Division
1.-SS Panzer Division "LSSAH" (USA, 20TSG, HRS) -- This is one of the oldest WWII reenacting units in existance today and is, in fact, the original 1. SS reenactment unit in the U.S.! The LSSAH has over 300 members spread about the U.S. -- definitely, a serious unit. This site has a LOT of pictures and info both about the group and the impression. Ausgezeichnet!
1.SS-Panzer-Division Aufklarung (USA, Midatlantic) --The 1st SS LAH is a group of non-political enthusiasts of history. We portray combat soldiers of the 1st Waffen-SS LAH (Aufklarung or reconnaissance unit) at public displays and at private re-enactments. We are located in the Mid-Atlantic/Virginia area.
We represent a small Aufklarung Gruppe within the large division and join forces with the 2nd SS "Das Reich", 1st SS Pionier, and 1st Panzer Gren. to form the battlegroup "Sonnenwende." Together we create a realistic Kampfgrupp with similar interests in the hobby of re-enacting.
1. SS-8.Kompanie Pz. Gren. 1 Rgt. 2 Btl. (USA, East Coast) -- This is the Official web site of 8.Kompanie Pz. Gren. 1 Rgt. 2 Btl. Our primary objective is to portray the ordinary soldaten of the Waffen-SS through meticulous research and attention to detail. Whether participating in tactical events or Living History displays, our goal is always the same, to create an authentic impression of the Waffen-SS soldat. The members of this unit are located along the East Coast of the United States. We attend events in the same geographical area.
1.SS Aufklärungs Abteilung (USA, AZ) -- 1.SS Arizona reenacts a motorized recon unit of the Waffen-SS. Our unit trains with topographic maps, compasses as well as radio communications so that we can move, traverse, locate the enemy, fix his location on a map, and get that information to the main assault body.
We arrive ready to fight. 1.SS Arizona deploys MG42s as well as various individual automatic weapons so that we can be an effective fighting force as well as fulfilling our recon mission. All members are trained to use all of the weapons in the unit.
In order to maintain our skills the unit participates in training weekends where classes in the various functions of the unit are conducted. We are, after all, in this hobby to learn
Formed in June of 2001, the vision for the 1.SS Aufklärungs Abteilung Arizona was to create a unit that not only dressed the part of the Waffen-SS soldier of WWII but embodied his Esprite de Corps as well. When the founding members of LSSAH Arizona first got together they all shared one idea. That was, that WWII reenacting from a German perspective should be more than dressing up and popping caps. Within the Waffen SS during WWII there was a friendship and loyalty to each other that founding members of 1.SS Arizona found appealing, and so they designed to build a new unit that not only maintained a high level of authenticity, but also provided the "Kamardschaft" that was such a big part of the life of WWII Waffen-SS Soldaten.
The World War II 1SS LAH reenactment group (USA, Calif) -- is a member of the World War II Research and Preservation Society (RPS). Members come from all walks of life, ranging from current and retired Military personnel and civilian law enforcement to full time students, doctors, lawyers, and busy executives
In order to accurately portray the tactical experience of the combat soldier of World War II, we also must portray combatants from all sides. However, we steadfastly refute any notions of association with any Socialist or Communist organizations and we reserve the right to refuse membership to anyone wishing such an association.
12./III Panzer Grenadier Rgt. "Deutschland" 2. SS Panzer Div. "Das Reich" (USA) -- A World War II reenacting group located in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. This unit was founded by military veterans and police officers with a vision of a unit who is second to none in tactical proficiency. We are not a parade ground unit. Consequently, there is a very heavy emphasis on physical fitness within this unit.
This is not to say that we will not accept members who are overweight, however in the interests of both historical accuracy (there were no front line SS soldiers with stomachs hanging out over their belts), and safety, we will select members who share our similar views of physical fitness. In the field, we move, and we move fast. We are a heavy mortar company (We own a captured Russian 82mm Mortar), and the physical effort required to move this equipment from one location to another is indeed strenuous.
11./ 4. SS-Pz.Grn.Rgt. "Der Fuher" -- 2. SS "Das Reich" (USA) -- Members of this unit portray the 11. Kompanie, 4-SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment "Der Führer", 2. SS-Panzer Division "Das Reich", circa 1944. The 9th through 12th companies constituted the 3rd Battalion of "Der Führer," which was the only panzergrenaider battalion in "Das Reich" equipped with halftracks. Our unit is fully motorized -- we have 2 functional trucks with another in restoration, we have a BMW Motorcycle combination, and a converted 251D model halftrack. Our main goal is a pursuit of pure "campaign style" reenacting. Sleeping conditions as well as daily life could be harsh for the common soldier, as it sometimes can be for us. We endeavor to rough it just as the common soldiers of WW2, and have learned how the common soldier made his own life easier in the process. If you want the total WW2 experience, that is what we are after as well- even if it only last a few days a month!
2. Pi.Btl. 2. W-SS-Div. "Das Reich" (USA, ID) -- We are an SS unit that portrays a Pionier Battalion. We thought it would be fun to do something besides infantry. We participate in battle reenactments and several living history events. We are located in Boise, Idaho. We are a small unit with only four members so far, but were growing and you have to start somewhere.
4. SS Division
4. SS Panzer Grenadier Division "SS-Polizei Division" (USA, Mid-Atlantic) -- We are members of the WWII Living History Association a NJ non-profit group. Based in New Jersey, our group has members all over the mid-Atlantic region and are actively recruiting! We have high authenticity standards and strive for Kameradschaft amongst our members! We participate in public displays and private tacticals.
5. SS Division
5.-SS Pionier-Division "Wiking" (USA, MidWest) -- We portray a Sturmpionier Gruppe (combat assault engineer, or sapper squad) within 2.Kompanie (armored) of the division's Pionier-Bataillon lending our demolitions capabilities to help our Kameraden attain sure and swift victory in our "fight against Bolshevism"!
Our unit consists of members in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Missouri (in the USA). As of now, we can field a full array of small arms (which fire blanks) and engineering equipment, but we Wikinger are always on the look out for more men and equipment! For those members that want to expand their reenacting experience, we also have full automatic weapons for rent! As dedicated living historians, we are also very much into preserving the little odds and ends that the German combat soldier would use day-to-day, such as the music, food, personal effects, etc. Detail in this hobby is as important to us as it is in the building of a good model Panzer.
6. SS Division
6.SS-Gebirgs-Division "Nord" (USA, MidWest, HRS) -- We thank you for your interest in our reenactment group. We are an HRS unit with members in Indiana,Ohio,And Michigan. We portray the 6th. SS Gebirgs Division during the years 1943-1945 Although the unit was formed in Norway in 1941.The 6.SS fought on the Eastern and Western fronts. This gives our unit the option of attending events based on either. The 6.SS fought in the worst possible conditions.Having fought in cold, wet swampland as well as the Artic Circle. In addition to educating the public in the history of WW2, it is our goal to foster a gerneral understanding of the typical German soldier, and to portray him as a man in a struggle to survive a war that he did not want.
9. SS Division
9th SS Hohenstaufen, Regt. 20(USA Midwest) -- We have unit membership in the TSG, HRS, MVPA and other associated clubs, societies, etc. Our members mostly come from the Michigan area and portray the 9th SS Panzer Division during the years 1943-1945. The 9th SS fought on both the Eastern and Western front giving our unit the option of attending events based on either. The 9th SS had a most distinguished history and was well respected by all, enemy included.
By reenacting as the 9th SS we have created a unique opportunity to battle along side of the majority of existing reenactor units that had their original units engaged in battle along side of or against the 9th SS. This historic accuracy in the field is an important aspect in our determination to be authentic and realistic in all facets of the hobby.
As a reenactment group it is essential for us to stress that we are not a political group nor are we a para-military organization. Our goal is to promote awareness and understanding on the part of the public. These elements being the world history from 1939-1945; specifically the military history of WWII, through the staging of public educational exhibitions, lectures displays and reenactments of typical battles fought between the Allied and Axis forces in WWII.
In addition to the educating of the public in the history of WWII, it is our desire to foster a general understanding of the typical German soldier, and to portray him as a man first, in a struggle to survive a war he hoped to see the end of. This is something that makes him a brother to all soldiers, of all nations, of all wars! Sieg oder chaos!
12. SS Division
12. SS, "Hitler Jugend" (USA, SoCal) -- The 12th SS is committed to high levels of authenticity. We've been on the cover of Militaria Magazine 3 times and have participated in the making of various documentry episodes on the History Channel. We have various vehicles including a 251/D halftrack, Kubelwagens, Schwimmwagen, troop transport trucks, motorcycles w/sidecars and have a Marder III in the works.
The CHG's 12th SS is a non-political unit whose sole purpose is to preserve World War Two history through uniform, equipment and vehicle restorations, static displays, and historical reenactments.
We usually meet once a month to accomplish this purpose. Our membership consists of military historians, collectors, students, businessmen, vehicle enthusiasts, and many others who share an interest in World War Two. Preserving and accurately recreating history is a common goal.
We are always looking for new recruits !!! Uniforms and gear are available on a loaner basis. Please take the time to visit our entire website. If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call or email us anytime !!
12. SS, "Hitler Jugend" (USA, MW) -- We portray the men of the 1st Platoon, 4th Kompanie, I Battalion, 25th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment, 12th SS Panzer Division 'Hitlerjugend'. The 12th SS is group of friends and family from Minnesota, Iowa & Wisconsin. Authenticity is our main priority. We carry what they carried, we wear what they wore. Our goal is to have the most historically accurate, highly motivated and best organized unit around. If this group is something you are interested in, please contact our unit leader, Scott Steben at badsteben666@hotmail.com
16. SS Division
16th SS-Panzer Grenadier Division (Australia) -- The 16th SS-Panzer Grenadier Division (reenacted) is an Historical Reenactment group that examines WW2, and the role of the Waffen-SS division, and Wehrmacht units including the 29th Panzer Grenadier Div, The 4th FJ, the 352nd Infantry, 44th Infantry, 20th Luftwaffe Field division, and others played in the often overlooked Italian and Balkan Fronts.
SS Fallschirmjager 500/600 (USA Florida) -- We are a re-enacting group based in central Florida portraying the only Waffen SS paratroop unit to see action in World War 2. Our emphasis is on historical accuracy, kameradschaft and realistic battlefield tactics. Our group has been re-enacting since 1985 all over the country, and is currently very active in the Southeast United States. We had the very great privilege of hosting the last commander of the Batallion, Sturmbannfuhrer Siegfried Milius, at an event sponsored by us in October 1988. Herr Milius has since sadly passed away, but the spirit of he and his men lives on through us. Our unit is open to anyone 16 years of age or older, regardless of race, religion, sex, or physical handicap.
SS FJ Btl 600 (USA Midatlantic) -- The purpose of this unit is to conduct historically accurate WW2 battle reenactments and other living history activities for the education
Listing of "Other Axis" Reenacting Units
This page is for Axis units "other" than German. Sorry if we sound Germano-centric but outside of German reenactors, there aren't really very many other Axis units: Finns, Italians and the Japanese. I guess you would also fit Romanians. Bulgarians and others in here too. It's not like these soldiers did not fight in the war, they just aren't "glamorous" enough for people to reenact, so it seems :-( And... not to say there aren't some dedicated reenactors who do these impressions; Rob Haught's 9th Romanian is a great example of dedication... If you're just getting into the hobby, why not think about one of these groups?

Plans to attend out of state events are in the works. We are also planning attendance at East Front events as well. Japanese Army Reenactor's Page (USA)--A beginning point, like we all had for the budding Japanese reenactor! Their purpose is to direct the IJA re-enactor to the resources that will let us create a viable IJA re-enactor army. Since this part of WWII reenacting is relatively new, your interest and participation is particularly important to the future of our hobby!! Sign up with the IJA message board--on that list you can find information about upcoming events, unit contacts, tips and reviews for uniforms and equipment and other timely information for the IJA soldier.
47th Independent Mixed Brigade (USA) -- The 47th Independent Mixed Brigade site, they are a group of reenactors from Arkansas, Louisiana, and Tennessee that portray the average Japanese infantry man in World War Two.The Independent Mixed Brigades were first formed in China in 1937, mainly for garrison and anti-guerilla duties. They consisted of 4 to 6 independent infantry battalions and a headquarters unit, with supporting units of artillery, signal, and engineers.E-mail contact: Russell Love
IJA 3rd Platoon (USA)-- The members of the Daisan Shoutai consist of living historians, whose aim is to portray the professional and highly-trained of the Imperial Japanese Army as seen in the China Incident and the Second World War. We recreate history by attending public displays and battle reenactments, as well as immersing ourselves in private tactical battles. infantryman
Isiu Island Provisional Infantry -- The Isiu Island is located in the Northern Kurile chain which is, to this day, still disputed territory between Japan and Russia. Natives of the island exhibit physical attributes commonly found in the Eastern Russo-Mongol people as well as the Japanese, which explains their unusual size. Many historical accounts have been written by American Soldiers during the Aleutian Island campaigns, giving mention to the enemy infantry units occupying the northern islands. The average reported physical size of an Isiu Islander was far larger than any typical Japanese soldier, baffling the American troops. The Japanese, on the other hand, saw their Isiu neighbors as a possible threat on account of their disputed position with the then-Soviet Union, sworn enemy of the Empire. As a multi-purpose solution to this dilemma, the islanders were conscripted into fighting for the Imperial Japanese Army, creating both a military barrier against the Northern Allied Forces, along with keeping the islanders themselves out of the core of the Empire, lest they be used as a way to gain an allied foothold into Tokyo.
Our unit, the Isiu Island Provisional Infantry, is a fictional one, representing the conscripted soldiers of the northern islands. For further information, please feel free to contact us and thank you for your interest...
5th Division Imperial Japanese Army (Singapore) -- Syonan Reflections was formed in 2002 by Alvin Lee Jun Ming along with several other fellow plastic modelers who wanted more than just making dioramas. The group modeled itself on the 5th Infantry Division of the Imperial Japanese Army. We chose this unit as it, together with the 18th Infantry Division set its first troops on Singapore soil on 8th February 1942 when they attacked the beaches of Sarimbun.
The group's objective is the authentic and accurate portrayal of soldiers of the Second World War, in particular German and Japanese. We also aim to further educate Singaporeans on the 3 years and 8 months endured by our grandparents when Singapore was renamed Syonan-To (Light of the south) during the Japanese occupation by bringing history to life!
IJA -- WWII Imperial Japanese Army Reenactors -- A group for those interested to seriously discuss Imperial Japanese Army militaria, tactics, and customs for the WWII era. (Please no reference to Japanese as "Japs" or "Nips." World War II ended over 55 years ago. We would like to take an educational, respectful, and objective look at this former adversary.) This is a moderated list and innappropriate posts will be deleted.
Romanian Units

Hungarian Units
6. Hungarian Infantry Regiment (USA) -- The 6. Hungarian Infantry Regiment is a World War Two reenactment group devoted to the accurate portrayal of the average Hungarian Honvéd from 1939-1945. We are mainly located in the Northeastern United States, but have members all over the lower 48 states. Through our portrayal we hope to educate ourselves and the public on the history of the Honvédség, and create an accurate tribute to the honor and traditions of the men of the Hungarian army.
Listing of Luftwaffe Renacting Units
Welcome to the Luftwaffe units page! Yep, we reenact the Luftwaffe too! Mostly Fallschirmjägers (Paras) but also ground troops and even Luftwaffe support troops too.
The German Air Force, led by Hermann Göring, contributed many units of ground forces to the war in Russia as well as the Normandy front. In 1940, the Fallschirmjäger paratroops conquered the Belgian Fort Eben-Emael and took part in the airborne invasion of Norway, but after suffering heavy losses in the Battle of Crete, large scale airdrops were discontinued. Operating as ordinary infantry, the 1st Fallschirmjäger Division took part in the Battle of Monte Cassino. The Luftwaffe Field Divisions were eventually considered by historians to be a drain on manpower and resources that would have been better used in Army formations, and are used as an example of how poorly co-ordinated the three branches of the Wehrmacht were. This was partly due to the rivalry between the branches in general, but mainly due to Göring's ambitions. The Luftwaffe, being in charge of Germany's Anti-aircraft warfare, also used thousands of teenage Luftwaffenhelfer to support the Flak units.

1./ Jäger-Regiment 34, 17 Luftwaffe FeldDivision (USA, Penna-Mid-Atlantic) -- A serious unit yet on ewho knows it's a hobby. You may have heard of Historical Trekking... imagine WWII Trekking... Go and look, the site is certainly not done, but One of the really cool things about this impression is that you can really wear a mix and mish-mash of uniforms and kit -- the LwFD had such a horrible supply problem on the Western Front that they had uniforms and gear from the Fallschirmjäger, Heer, and even the Waffen-SS. Looks kinda pukey but is authentic and will drive the stitch-nazi "we gotta be uniform and identical" crowd nuts (okay, I'm a bit evyil). On the Eastern Front, it was a bit different, the Luftwaffe Feld Divisions were more uniform, lots of the Luftwaffe uniform and kit items, but still, this is the ULTIMATE anti-elite impression!
Located in the Penna, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia areas --
if you don't live there or close to these areas, it might be best if you looked for a closer unit.
"Hey, why is this unit at the top?" RHIP!
Luftwaffe Fallschirmjäger (Airborne) Impressions
Fallschirmjäger Rgt.1 (Poland) -- Our living history group fights and reenacts the 1st Fallschirmjäger Regiment. We are the first and the biggest group of German paratroopers of WW2 in Poland. Take a look on our site!
Axis42 (UK) -- We are a UK based reenactment group with members across the country, who portray grenadiers from the various incarnations of the "Hermann Göring" Division, form 1940 to the close of hostility's 1945. During the course of the year we attend various shows throughout the country (usually one every four weeks), putting on displays in the summer and taking part in private battles and training weekends in the Autumn and winter months.
The members of Axis42 are a friendly group who enjoy getting together to share their common interest in German re-enacting and other military subjects. Members are very knowledgeable so there is always something to learn about the group we portray. The social aspect of getting together and sharing your hobby with like minded people is a great experience and we encourage team work. Axis42 do not do drill or marching, field craft is taught but there is no shouting or punishment duty. Rank is determined by the amount of work, effort and time a member puts into the group and there is an awards system in place. If you are interested in joining a friendly bunch of NON political people who enjoy public events and private battles, please read the rules below.
The Luftlande Sturm Regiment (USA, East Coast) -- located in South Central Pennsylvania, with members in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Our Kampfgruppe logo is a combination of the famous LL Sturm Regiment Komet and 1st FJ Division Green Devil. Our unit is a member of the W2HPG, and attend events on the east coast of the United States, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic Area. Feel free to browse around using the sidebar to the left. 2. Kompanie Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 "The Green Devils of Carentan" (UK) -- Our aim is to portray the daily lives of Fallschirmjaeger troops of FJR 6, both in battle and during rest. Although we strive to look and act authentically, we are a friendly unit and have an easy going attitude. We attend public shows and private battles all year round in the UK.
If you've ever wanted to ride around the 1944 Normandy Bocage in a motorcycle combination, try the next best thing... Join us!
Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 2 (UK) -- Living History and reenactment group, is one of the premier Fallschirmjager reenactment groups in Europe. Its members have over 40 years combined experience in reenacting and researching the german fallschirmjager of WWII. Our Living History Group honors the military service and sacrifices of all World War II Veterans. Regardless of which country they served, paratroopers were some of the most highly skilled and motivated troops of any army. They were given dangerous missions, jumped into the heart of seemingly impossible situations, and always fought with courage and élan.
The Members of the Fallschirmjäger Regiment 5 (USA) Living History Group seek not to glorify war, but rather to preserve military history and present to the public an accurate representation of a WWII German Airborne Unit. We do not tolerate or condone any form of racism, radical or otherwise extremist activities, and we do not embrace the politics upon which the original Third Reich was founded.
Specifically, our Group strives to carry on the memory and traditions of the German Paratroopers of World War II: die deutsche Fallschirmjäger. We do this primarily by attending historical battle reenactments and through educating the public at historical displays.
Falljschrim-Jager Regt.2 Kompanie 6 (USA Northeast) -- Our Living history group honors the military service and sacrifices of all World War II veterans, and we dedicate this site to WWII paratrooper veterans, regardless of which country they served, paratroopers were some of the most highly skilled and motivated troops of any army. They were given dangerous missions, jumped into the heart of seemingly impossible situations, and always fought with courage and elan. We do not promote political views or condone them. Specifically our group strives to carry on the memory and traditions of the German Paratroopers of WWII. We do this through educating the public at historical displays and by attending historical battle reenactments.

38. Jäger Regiment, 17. Luftwaffe Feld-Division (USA, TX) -- World War 2 German reenactment unit dedicated to the re-creation of the 33rd Jager Regiment of the 17th Field Division (Luftwaffe)in Texas and surrounding areas (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana). The emphasis of this group will be authenticity and flexibility of impressions to match tactical and public battle themes. The goals of the group are:
AUTHENTIC - if it's not correct, why bother?
Active - have battle will travel within reason.
Tactically aggressive.
Primitive camp - sleep on the ground when possible!
Fun - remembering why we are in the hobby!
The group has no dues but membership in the Texas Military Historical Society is REQUIRED (and will be checked). Requests for membership from outside of this general area will generally be declined as we are looking for active participants (vendors are a possible exception). This group does not in any way support any neo-Nazi or related political agendas. Extremists in any form are NOT welcome!
One of the biggest benefits of this impression is the ability to use nearly any combination of gear that was used by both the Heer and the Luftwaffe. Mixing and matching is the rule rather than the exception. It is very easy to add a second impression by adding very little additional gear - sometimes as little as a belt buckle!
18. Feld Division “Goring’s Grenadiers” (USA, Southeast) -- It is our intention to portray one of the fragments of the destroyed 18.Feld Division (Lw) after its brief, but brutal, encounter with the overwhelming allied forces deployed in France in 1944. We do not represent a division, battalion, regiment or company. We represent a few German soldiers trying to escape capture or death and return to their homeland to fight another day. We continue the brave fight. We lose some along the way to the continued pressure of the ever-advancing allies and their partisan compatriots. We portray the tired, battle-worn soldier thrown back into the conflict in a last gasp hope of delaying the inevitable. Finally, we represent the desperation of what was the once mighty Wehrmacht after having fought the good fight.

Listing of Kriegsmarine Reenacting Units
Well, it is nice to actually get some Kriegsmarine content here! Have no fear, I am sure more will be forthcoming.
From WikiPedia
Die Kriegsmarine History
The German Navy (Kriegsmarine) played a major role in the Second World War as control over the commerce routes in the Atlantic was crucial for Germany, Britain and later the Soviet Union.
In the Battle of the Atlantic, the initially successful German U-boat fleet arm was eventually defeated due to Allied technological innovations like sonar, radar, and the breaking of the Enigma code.
Large surface vessels were few in number due to construction limitations by international treaties prior to 1935. The "pocket battleships" Admiral Graf Spee and Admiral Scheer were important as commerce raiders only in the opening year of the war. No aircraft carrier was operational as German leadership lost interest in the German Navy's carrier, Graf Zeppelin, which had been launched in 1938.
Following the loss of the Bismarck in 1941, with Allied air superiority threatening the remaining battlecruisers in French Atlantic harbours, the ships were ordered to make the Channel Dash back to German ports. Operating from fjords of Norway, which had been occupied in 1940, convoys from the USA to the Soviet port of Murmansk could be intercepted even though the Tirpitz spent most of her career as Fleet in being.
Since the appointment of Karl Doenitz as Grand Admiral of the Kriegsmarine, Germany stopped constructing battleships and cruisers in favour of U-boats.
Is there a LOT of Kriegsmarine reenacting? No, not really, but there are some groups. If it interests you, why not give it a try? This hobby is one of doing and it is still also a HOBBY meaning we do it for fun and for what interests us. If the German Navy interests you, then by all means, why not put together an impression?
Anyway, there are some groups and as we find more we'll add them here :-) Give the ones we have a look and see if they interest you.
To add your unit link, please go to our link-add page.
If you find a problem in this time/area or would like your unit listed please feel free to e-mail the WW2 T/A webmasters: Harry Coombs or Rob Haught.

KRIEGSMARINE! (USA)--an all new reenactment group based in NewEngland, Massachusetts. This new reenactment group will specialize in the reenactment of the German Kriegsmarine from 1939 to 1945 . Members will display many types of uniforms and act out there impressions during living history events and public parades and displays.
We are currently in the planning stage and will soon design a unit impression, title, personnal impressions and personas. We are in the process of researching the history of every aspect of the Kriegsmarine. Our short term, and long term goals are to build a reenactment unit with members that are highly motivated in the study, and reenactment, of the Kriegsmarine. Our long term plan is to build a scaled down replica of a German E-boat or equivalent.
Das Boot 49 (UK)--
Kriegsmarine Kustenabteilung (USA) -- Our goal with this organization must be to portray ourselves as closely as is practicable to the units that we are representing. In doing so, we will honor as well as respect those that participated in the actual events of the Second World War. Additionally, we shall honor and respect the other reenactors that will be participating in the Living History and Tactical events that are to come, as well as learn and educate ourselves to the greatest extent on the subject matter of the German Navy of the Second World War.
Welcome to the WWII Heer Units page!
In this area, you will find listings for all the websites we can find of units portraying the German Army during the Second World War. The German Army had (has) a long and honored history (don't start, they did!) and their loyalty and honor, plus a sense of duty was a part of what made the Wehrmacht great. Loyalty to his organization, family, country and comrades is one of those things that makes the German a natural soldier and most of try and do this portrayal correctly.
If you are interested in portraying a "Landser," check out one of these units listed below, they will get you going!
Das Heer
From WikiPedia:
The German Army furthered concepts pioneered during the First World War, combining ground (Heer) and Air Force (Luftwaffe) assets into combined arms teams. Coupled with traditional war fighting methods such as encirclements and the "battle of annihilation", the German military managed many lightning quick victories in the first year of the Second World War, prompting foreign journalists to create a new word for what they witnessed: Blitzkrieg.
The Heer entered the war with a minority of its formations motorized; infantry remained approximately 90% foot-borne throughout the war, and artillery primarily horse-drawn. The motorized formations received much attention in the world press in the opening years of the war, and were cited as the reason for the success of the German invasions of Poland (September 1939), Norway (April 1940), Denmark, Belgium, France and Netherlands (May 1940), Yugoslavia (April 1941) and the early campaigns in the Soviet Union (June 1941).
With the entry of the United States in December 1941, the Wehrmacht found itself engaged in campaigns against two major industrial powers. At this critical juncture, Hitler assumed personal control of the Wehrmacht high command, and his personal failings as a military commander arguably contributed to major defeats in early 1943, at Stalingrad and Tunis in North Africa.
The Germans' military strength was managed through mission-based tactics (rather than order-based tactics) and an almost proverbial discipline. In public opinion, the German Army was, and sometimes still is, seen as a high-tech army (e.g., The movie "Star Wars" features a MG42, used by the Empire's storm troopers.). These technologies were featured by propaganda, but were often only available in small numbers or late in the war, as overall supplies of raw materials and armaments became low. For example, only forty percent of all units were motorised, baggage trains often relied on horse-drawn trailers and many soldiers went by foot or used bicycles (de: Radfahrtruppen).
Max Hastings, British author, historian and ex-newspaper editor, said in a radio interview on WGN Chicago "...there's no doubt that man for man, the German army was the greatest fighting force of the second world war." This view was also explained in his book "Overlord: D-Day and the battle for Normandy". In the book World War II : An Illustrated Miscellany, Anthony Evans writes: 'The German soldier was very professional and well trained, aggressive in attack and stubborn in defence. He was always adaptable, particularly in the later years when shortages of equipment were being felt'. These views of German warriors are an attempt to evaluate their fighting abilities and not trying to excuse or justify some of the aims or actions of the Nazi regime.
Among the foreign volunteers who served in the Heer during World War II were ethnic Germans, Dutch, and Scandinavians along with people from the Baltic states and the Balkans. Russians fought in the Russian Liberation Army or as Hilfswilliger. Non-Russians from the Soviet Union formed the Ostlegionen. These units were all commanded by General Ernst August Köstring and represented about five percent of the forces under the OKH.

Grenadier-Regiment Großdeutschland Website (USA, East Coast) -- The "Premier" German unit of WWII Reenacting is on-line here. "GD" has 150 members all over the Eastern Seaboard. They stress authenticity, Living History and especially "Kameradschaft!" Besides a plethora of vehicles, they now also appear to have a real Hetzer!!
1. Kompanie Großdeutschland (USA, NorthMidWest) -- Headquartered in Wisconsin in the US. We attend events throughout the Midwest and are a chartered unit of the 20th Century Tactical Studies Group and we adhere to their rules and regulations. If you are interested in becoming part of a growing, elite reenacting unit, please visit our website.
Großdeutschland Combat Trains (USA, MidWest, HRS) -- This is the home of the "Gefechtstroß". The combat support trains of the Großdeutschland Infantry Division. We are WWII reenactors, representing the support troops that followed the Wehrmacht.
As with all armies, the Germans had numerous soldaten transporting equipment and supplies, providing medical care and cooking for the "front line" troops who fought the battles. Without these troops, the "blitzkrieg" could have never happened. Supplies, food, maintenance both of the soldat (medical) and his equipment, allowed the "Landser" to complete his mission.
Czech Großdeutschland site (Czech Republic) -- This site, in both Czech and Englishis well worth a look. It is amazing that they can do this in Europe, especially with the strong anti-German undercurrent that exists there. Please visit this site and look around... tell him you saw it here on reenactor.Net! [Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't]
Großdeutschland Regiment Infanterie (Poland) -- Okay, I can't read any of it, but the photos are neat. I sent them a note asking for info, we'll see if we get any... I guess if you live in Eastern Europe this would be good for you ;-)
Grenadier-Regiment Großdeutschland (USA, MidWest) -- The 3. Komapnie/ Großdeutschland has members in Nebraska, Iowa and Idaho. We are members of the 20th Century Tactical Studies Group (CTSG) as well as the Great Plains Society of Military Historians (GPS). The 3rd Kompanie has membership in several states. Our first Zug has members in Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. Our second Zug has members in Idaho and Utah. Our goal is research and portray the impression of a common soldier in the Grossdeutschland (not the politics which directed them) as well as educate the public about the German soldier. We strive for this goal by providing an excellent impression of a German soldier during WW II both in the field and in first person. If you ever wanted to experience World War II living history, then this unit may be for you.
Füsilier-Regiment "Großdeutschland" (UK) -- The objective of this group is to recreate as closely as possible the sight and sound of a Panzergrenadier unit on the Eastern Front in the last two years of the Second World War. This group believes in bringing history to life, the sights, sounds and even the smells! Based in the UK.
Der Erste Zug Living History Organization (USA, MidAtlantic) -- Der Erste Zug is dedicated to portraying the common German landser of WWII as accurately as research and materials will allow as well as to better educate ourselves and the public at large about this part of history that is often overlooked or misinterpreted.
We use this "generic" name to give ourselves the ability to tailor our impressions to the location & time period that is best suited for the event we are portraying. No matter the theater or period, our impressions are that of an average regular infantry unit.
2nd Panzer Division (USA, MidWest) -- Well, it says: "Preserving the memory of the 2nd Panzer Division, Who Fought Bravely and with Honor During WWII" but that's all I found about THEM... if you read my listings you know that usually results in my calling them a "Puff Daddy" unit... hint-hint...
2. Panzer (Canada) -- We are a Canadian-based group of military historians, enthusiasts and re-enactors with the purpose of bringing history out of books and into life, in a dynamic, refreshing and interesting way.
We portray the men of the 2 Panzer Division of the German Army during the later part of World War 2 (1944-1945). More specifically, we portray "Panzergrenadieren" or armoured infantry of Panzer Grenadier Regiment 2, which was one of the two armoured infantry regiments belonging to the division.
This impression was chosen because 2. Panzer Division was one of the first of the newly created armoured divisions in the mid-30's. It fought with distinction on all fronts (except Italy) and took part in all major campaigns on the Eastern and Western Fronts.
We have members across Ontario and Quebec, and have friends (Kameraden) in US based groups who make the journey North to participate with us in public events.
Events we participate in include public and private school events, museums, air shows, movies and TV documentaries. Typically, at these events we display our uniforms, weapons, and equipment, answer questions from the public, and also conduct tactical battle simulations with Allied reenactors.
Our goal is to accurately represent what life was like for the ordinary soldier ( the “Landser”) of 2 Panzer Division. In doing so, we hope to educate ourselves and the public: honouring the men who served in the German Army and those who fought against them.
2. Panzer (USA, MidWest) -- Most of our members live in the following states: Ohio, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Consider joining if you live in or near one of those states, unless you can travel. We are military collectors and historians interested in recreating World War II battles. We dress in uniforms of the W.W.II period (usually reproductions). We also use WWII equipment and weapons. The firearms use blank ammunition or in some cases they are gas firing reproductions (usually the cannons and sometimes the machine guns).
Our purpose is to:
preserve the heritage and memorabilia of all the nations which fought in the war;
keep alive the traditions of the combat soldier and auxiliary personnel;
educate the public in preserving historic relics and information of the period;
exhibit and demonstrate the uniforms, equipment and tactics for the educational benefit of the general public;
foster interest in living history encampments and battlefield re- creations as a hobby
Panzer Aufklarungs-Lehr Abt.130 (USA, SouthEast) -- Our unit is a WW2 German Panzer Division in Florida. We are a door to the past. We bring a small fraction of the average soldiers daily life in 1942, to the public of today. We do not agree with the ideology of the Third Reich, and in no way glorify the true horror of War. We are lovers of history, and want everyone to pay the Veterans the respect that they earned. Alive or dead, no matter what War, no matter which side, they all paid a price for their country. It's all about honor, duty, and putting your country, and loved ones, above yourself.
21st Panzer Division (USA, SoCal) -- Located in San Diego California, this is a excellent unit with members all over California. They reenact under the CHG. the 21st Panzer Division was formed to remember those men who fought in that war and to preserve the uniforms, equipment, weapons, and even the vehicles of that era. Militaria collectors, history buffs, students, military vehicles owners, teachers, businessmen, and even active duty military personnel fill our ranks as unit members. Our purpose is to relive(as close as possible), and to keep alive the traditions and memories of the combat soldier of WW II.
The 21st Panzer Division requires three things of our members; Safety, Authenticity, and a strictly Nonpolitical orientation. Our goal is to educate the public to the importance of preserving artifacts of the era, to sponsor the growth, development, and understanding of reenacting as a highly rewarding, enriching, and educational interest.
21. Panzer Division, Rgt 192 (Germany) -- A German unit, IN GERMANY... Cool! Of course, these guy usually go to the UK to do their reenacting... And yeah, their site is "auf Deutsch" so... deal with it!

Der Verein " AG Panzergrenadierregiment 192 e.V. " wurde am 24.Januar 1998 in Leipzig gegründet. Die Eintragung ins Vereinsregister beim Amtsgericht in Leipzig erfolgte am 13.März 1998. Pz.Abt. 101 (Germany) -- We reenact a view of East Westphalia in the time 1935 to 1945 and our goal is to highlite some of the important units of the German army that were and trained stationed here then. We beleive that the memory of the soldiers of this time and their achivements should be kept alive in worthy way.
For all who are interested, want to reenact this and, later in the context of a museum,
make this time "touchable" to Germans.
We strive to accurately portray the common German soldiers that fought and died for their country and honor soldiers of all nations that served in World War Two. Membership is open to males age 16 and above. Though we are based in Florida we have members throughout the south and attend events as far north as Indiana. Our brother Kompanie of the 116th is based in Illinois-Indiana and welcomes new recruits in their area. The 116th is rapidly becoming the fastest growing German WW2 unit in Florida.
Being a motorized panzergrenadier Kompanie our members own a BMW R71 motorcycle with sidecar and a HACHA 222 armored scout car. We are also working on a ground-up restoration of a Styer truck.
116 Panzer-Division (UK) -- AFRA -- the Axis Forces Re-enactment Assoctiation is a reenactment association whose aim is to portray the lives of ordinary soldiers in the frontline of the Western Front during the latter part of WWII. In particular, from the D-Day landings on the 6th June 1944 until the final surrender in Europe on 7 May 1945.
To achieve this, members collect and display both authentic and reproduction items of uniform and equipment along with other associated wartime ephemera. These include weapons, paybooks, identity cards, newspapers and items of personal kit that would have been issued to and purchased by the common soldier. Members bring the period to life by wearing period uniforms and equipment and are encouraged to train and drill in a manner consistent with the era.
116. Panzer Aufklärungs Battailon, 116. Panzer-Division "Windhunde" (USA, SouthEast) -- Welcome to the website of the 116th Panzer Division Reconnaissance. We are a living history and WWII battle reenactor group. We are based in north east Louisiana and are just one of the units associated with the Louisiana Military History Association. Our mission is to honor the veterans, preserve World War II artifacts, and educate both ourselves and public about the greatest conflict in human history. In accomplishing that mission, we have lots of fun.
3. Panzer Grenadier Division (USA, New England) -- 3. PGD is a WWII reenactment organization based in MA with people from MA, RI, CT, VT, NH, ME and NY. The 3rd Panzergrenadier Division is a Living History Group located in the Northeast United States established to promote the study of W.W.II history for military historians and collectors interested in gaining insight on what it may have been like to be a German soldier of W.W.II.
Our Goal is to educate the public and ourselves through an accurate portrayal of those who served as members of this proud Prussian Army division. We are a certified nonprofit organization whose purpose is to preserve a piece of Germany's military history, not its political history.
One of our goals in the portrayal of 3rd Panzer Grenadier Division is to bring to light the actions of a unit whose vast involvement in the second world war seems somewhat overshadowed by most history books. Through this web site, we will continue to strive to be the foremost resource in the world for information concerning this specific division. Our non-profit organization is attempting to obtain and preserve a collection of as many original documents, photographs, oral histories from veterans, and relics particular to the division as possible. If you have any specific inquiries, or informations to share, please contact us for more information and to assist in our efforts.
Aufklärungs Kompanie (mot) 580, 90e leichte Afrika Division (Australia) -- The Aufklärungs-Kompanie (mot) 580 of the 90th Leichte Afrika-Division was formed in the early part of 1998. Some of its members were reenactors from the UK. We will attend every major show in Western Australia, and some major interstate events.
We have 4 replica BMW R71 motorcycles with sidecars, one Kuebelwagen and one OT-810 halftrack that is currently undergoing conversion. We welcome all new members no matter where in Australia they may live. We also welcome contacts with re-enactors and military historians across the world.
We wish to display to the public and educate them of the lifestyle and the equipment of the common German soldier that fought in the desert. We hope to break the stereotyping of the German jackbooted goosestepping thug by showing that the average German soldier was no different in outlook to his Allied opponent, just wanting to survive the war, and go back home and live a normal life of a young man. We hope to do this through public displays at gun shows, air shows and other similar events. We are also available for movie work.
Panzeraufklärungs-Abteilung 11./11. Panzerdivision (USA, Mid-East Coast) -- a WWII German reenactment group that portrays Heer (army) soldiers of the 11th Panzer Division's reconnaissance regiment. Our primary goal is to study and teach others about one of the United States' most capable military adversaries through the demonstration of authentic small unit tactics and the display of uniforms, weapons, and equipment. Click on the "Reenactment Photos" link at the top of this page to view "aged" shots of our group in action.
Based in Northern Virginia, Panzer Aufklärungs Abteilung 11 has members from Pennsylvania to North Carolina and we host and participate in public and private tactical events, living history displays, and other military demonstrations from New York to southern Virginia. We are proud to be founding members of the Mid-Atlantic WW2 Association (MAWW2A), a collection of professional axis and allied WW2 reenactment groups dedicated to improving authenticity and building Kameraderie among like minded units.
Our sole reason for portraying a WW2 German unit is our interest in military history - we are not politically motivated in any way. We respect the Wehrmacht's military accomplishments as much as we abhor the ideology of the regime it served.
2. /110, 11. Panzer-Division (USA, Pacific Northwest) -- The members of the 11th Panzer Division reenactment unit are dedicated to preserving the memory of an outstanding military unit caught up in horrific times. As with the original 11th Panzer Division, we reenact both Eastern and Western European operations. We portray the regular German soldier through the use of accurate personal and field impressions. Proper equipment and field and barracks conduct is mandatory. We also participate in joint events with other clubs in the Western United States.
85th Gebirgsjägers (UK) -- We are a group of enthusiasts re-enacting the German soldier of the mountain units between 1939 - 1945. We have been together for a approximately 7 years in one form or another. We have recently settled down as the 85th Gebirgsjäger. We chose the 85th because we could portray more variety due to the various locations of the unit during World War II.
Gebirgsjager-Regiment 85 (USA, New England) -- Specializing in the reenactment of the German Mountian Infantryman from 1940 to 1945. We are based in Worcester Massachusetts, in the Metro West Boston Massachusetts area of New England and are affiliated with the Military Re-enactment Society.
Our participation will involve in the living history of the men who fought under the Gebirgsjager title. We will participate in WWII reenactments through out New England and the East Coast. Also the Gebirgsjager will frequently practice the art of mountaineering as an offset to our hobby.
1./ Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 98, 1. Gebirgsjäger Division (USA, NorCal) -- A serious unit for "Living Historians" -- cap busters need not apply! You may have heard of Historical Trekking... imagine WWII Trekking... Go and look, the site is certainly not done, but much of the on-line Handbuch is there. We may not have lot of members, nor will we attend every battle -- anyone can bust caps -- to do this, you need to "want to be there!"
On Hiatus right now!
4. Gebirgsjäger Division "Die Enzian Division" (USA, MidWest) -- To Join the 4th Gebirgsjäger Division, you must at least be 16 years of age with parental permission (18 to take the field). We do not discriminate based upon age, sex, race, creed, sexual orientation or the like. Uniform requirements are listed on this web page along with approved vendors. We do ask that a perspective member meet with one of our members of the board of directors for an interview before purchasing anything. We are an intensive living history group, authenticity is our focus in all aspects, Please, be aware of this.
100. Regiment, 5. Gebirgsjäger Division (USA, MidWest) -- Our World War II historical re-enactment unit was formed to portray a German Mountain Infantry Division as it would have appeared from 1943-1944. In order to maintain historical accuracy and authenticity we have established high uniform, equipment, and grooming standards. These standards are explained in this site. We belong to the W.W. II Historical Re-enactment Society, Inc. All W.W. II H.R.S. rules and regulations will be strictly enforced.
100. Regiment, 5. Gebirgsjäger Division (USA, MidEastCoast) -- Now owned by the Groth Kompanie... A site devoted to the elite Gebirgsjägertruppen (Mountain Troops) during World War II. Has links to all known Gebirgsjäger reenactor units. GREAT web site!!
43rd Sturm-Pionier-Batallion (USA) -- The 43rd SturmpionierBataillon is a World War II reenacting group based mainly out of Florida, but we have members throughout the Southeast. Our impression is that of motorised German assault engineers of the period 1939-45. We have several vehicles (some under repair or construction) and pretty much all the sundry equipment that assault engineers would have had in the field during WWII. We participate in many reenactment battles throughout the year and also we help put on living history demonstrations for the public.
We try to accurately portray the common everyday German pionier of WWII to the best of our ability. This is done through living history programs, demonstrations and battle reenactments. Uniforms, equipment and weapons are to be original or exact replicas. If you present yourself to the public, you have an obligation (to the public) to represent the common German pionier as accurately as possible. For mispresentation through your uniform, equipment and weapons is presenting falsehoods in history and disgraces the memory of those who served, living and dead. Politics are not the interest or focus of the group but the potrail of the life of a combat soldier
I.R.15. /29. Panzer-Grenadier-Division "Falcon Division" (USA, Mid-East Coast) -- Our regiment was formed in 1988 and we participate in the historical representation of the German Soldaten during World War II. Our members generally live in Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and Kentucky. There is no fee involved for joining our unit. We educate the public about the training and requirements of the common German Soldier who was serving his country as any nation's soldier would.
44. Infantrie-Division "Hoch und Deutschmister" (USA, SothEast) -- Grenadier-Regiment 134 is a living history unit based in Atlanta, Georgia. A unit of the N.M.H.A., our members portray soldiers of the 2. Kompanie of the "Hoch- und Deutschmeister" from the period 1939-1945.
I.R.135, 45. Inf.Div (USA, NJ) -- The 45th Infanterie Division is dedicated to the accurate re-creation of the WW2 combat infantry soldier serving in the German Army between 1939 and 1945. Our unit portrays a 1941 infantry soldier. We strive for high authenticity standards for all those involved with our unit. Our unit works autonomously in the field. We work as a team in order to accomplish our objectives, and use superior tactics to overcome our lack of firepower.
We are located in the South Jersey area and participate in events in Pennslyvania, New York and New Jersey. If you are interested in joining us, please goto our Contact page, or our new page, "Join Us" to see how you can become a 45th soldat.
3. Kompanie, J.R. 226, 79. Infanterie-Division (USA, Mid-East Coast) -- A group that portrays an early-war Heer unit. Based in the Virginia/North Carolina area. J.R. 226 is a vehicle through which committed persons from the Virginia and Carolina area can actively explore the experience of the German Infantryman in World War Two. Gathered together in the form of a typical Infanterie Kompanie, we strive to investigate the life of the average foot soldier. Each member may have different motives, but collectively our goal is the same. We seek to encounter, within reasonable bounds, the lessons of this momentous event thus gaining greater insight into ourselves and history.
Like all select brotherhoods, the 226th Regiment insists on the highest standards from it's membership. To be counted as a Kamerad of J.R. 226, one must believe in excellence and precision. By nature be assertive, mature and willing to work side by side as part of a team. Together we achieve that which is beyond mere individualism. It is just this spirit of fellowship that binds each member to his Brothers-in-Arms and allows him to fully understand the meaning of „Kameradschaft“.
98. Infantry Division (USA, FL) -- World War 2 reenacting unit located centrally in Tampa, Florida. Dedicated to the historical accuracy of the Deutche Soldat. Alas, not much more on their site ABOUT THEM... ;-( Hey, is that Puff Daddy over there?
250.Infanterie-Division Spanish "Blue Division" (Ohio) -- Our main goal is to maintain alive the history and military accomplishments of All the European soldiers that served their country during World War II.And to remember the sacrifices of the young women who served the German Red Cross, who healed the hearts and bodies of Axis and Allied Soldiers away from home.We accomplish this be means of Living History Displays Battle Reenactments, School / Library presentations and this website.
272nd Volksgrenadier-Division (USA, PA) -- We are a new WWII re-enacting unit based in eastern PA. Our purpose is to portray the common late war infantryman of the German army as accurately as possible. We are not equipped with Camouflaged smocks or helmet covers nor are we equipped with good winter/snow gear, but neither was the average German foot soldier of that time period. The plain old Infantryman was not very glamorous, but neither was WWII.
Grenadier Rgt. 980 (USA, NorthEast) -- is a German WWII reenacting unit affiliated with the World War Two Western Front Association. We portray a standard German Army infantry unit, and although we don't have the flashiest uniforms or equipment Germany had to offer, we do derive a great deal of satisfaction from the US veteran who points at one of us and says "Now that's the German I remember, a plain old infantyman!" In fact, that's one of the main purposes of our club: to research and present the common German soldier as accurately as possible and help to clarify the misconceptions held of the German WWII Landser
5./ Gr.Rgt. 916, 352. Inf.Div. (UK) -- The 916. Grenadier Regiment is a 're-created' living history unit based on the actual unit that fought with distinction in North West Europe between 1944 and 1945, therefore, we owe it to those men of both sides to portray them correctly and with respect - lest we forget.
The unit was formed way back in 1978 by enthusiasts and collectors and was then called 'Stürmgruppe Adler'- a fictitious unit. Later, we adopted an actual German Unit identity and today the unit has a long and proud history as one of the premier WWII German Infantry Units in the world.
The unit is made up of a group of dedicated individuals with an interest in the WWII German Army, but without any sympathy for the Third Reich or its ideals. Our aim is to honour the ordinary infantry soldier of all nations.
352. Infantrie-Division (USA, SoCal) -- This unit has also been seen in the Tales of the Gun serries on the History channel. We are a unit within the California Historical Group. If you would like to join the 352nd and get into a great hobby please check out the web site and contact us.This is a great chance to be involved in WW2 Living History and make some great new friends. We have members located in Southern California and Northern California .
Gott mit uns 1943 Darstellungsgruppe deutsche Soldaten (Germany/Central Europe) -- We are a group of reenactors located in Germanygroup, who have events with scenarios based on a WW2 squad level impression of German combat troops, ranging from Waffen-SS and WH Panzergrenadier/Infantrie to Fallschirmjäger and Gebirgsjäger.
Feldgendarmerie (military police) units
Feldgendarmerie Trupp 82 (motorisierte) / 2. Panzer Division (UK) -- Feldgendarmerietrupp 82 is a member of the World War 2 Living History Association. The WW2LHA is an association of militaria collectors, historians and hobbyists. Their prime aim is to preserve and display the equipment and weapons of the 1939-1945 war, and to remember the people involved in the conflict by accurately portraying them in organized mock battles, living history campsites and public re-enactments. The association provides the means for members to do this in a safe and legal way. Feldgendarmerietrupp 82 (UK) -- Feldgendarmerietrupp 82 is a member of the World War 2 Living History Association. We shall continue to present the participants of WW2 in as correct a manner as possible, through dress and behaviour so as to act as a living memorial to them. As we pursue these aims we shall not allow any political involvement to enter our activities.
