News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go to http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,167.html and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!
Currently, we have a really great listing of sutlers here. These businesses are the best, so please visit them and tell 'em you saw it on reenactor.Net! If you have a reenactor vendor link you want on this page, please visit our Vendor Info Page.

WW2 Reenacting Organizations
On this page, you will find a list of the many WWII "parent" organizations. These are the overall organizations that put on events and that most Units/clubs belong to. If you don't already have a unit or are looking to join, it is a good idea to find one of these organizations in your area and contact them -- they can then help you find a good unit and get started.
To add your unit link, please go to our link-add page.
If you find a problem in this time/area or would like your unit listed please feel free to e-mail the WW2 T/A webmasters: Harry Coombs or Rob Haught.

WWII "Morsels of Authenticity"
What in Sam Hill, you're thinking, is a "Morsel of Authenticity?" well, it's simple, they are short articles dealing with a subject, any subject, that will help a reenactor improve his/her impression. Right now, we only have some German articles, but soon, very soon (yeah right, Marsh) we hope to have some good Soviet articles and more! Keep looking!
If you find a problem in this time/area or would like your unit listed please feel free to e-mail the WW2 T/A webmasters: Harry Coombs or Rob Haught.
And yes, we DO actually add links, it just takes some time.... Better yet, click the link below to use the add-link form! And Please report any and all broken links to us so we can get them fixed.
Morsels of Authenticity: Articles and details to help with building a great impression. [Finally I got off my butt and had some time to start this!!!] If you have an article to help others, anything at all, please send it in! We know there is good stuff out there!
After Action Reports: Some older After action reports. I hope to have some new ones here soon--these were done in the "pre-Marsh" days--so a long time ago now. Need more!
On Reenacting Axis Troops: Here is an article for those shallow people who simply cannot understand why anyone would want to reenact Axis troops, much less be allowed to.
Definition of a FARB!: This is a couple of short essays on just what a Farb is. See if you don't agree (of course, if you're offended, send me an e-mail)
German Rank and how to recognize it: Hey Kinder, now you can look at a German reenactor and not just wonder what all them "shiney doo-dads" are.
Too many little groups?: Article by Larry Mayo on the need to halt the proliferation of new reenacting groups.
Something else to Avoid: A very negative article about some SS reenactors in England. It shows what happens when guys with little or no common sense, are allowed to a: reenact WWII and b: talk with the press.
Reenacting WWII has come a long way since its origins in 1975. Back then, it wasn't "cool" to cut your hair short or even to wear military uniforms. However, there were groups of guys who wanted to understand what it was actually like, to really be in WWII. They rejected the "Hogan's Heroes" view of the war -- instead, doing research, interviewing veteran's -- it was a hard row to hoe and there were many pitfalls and false starts.
Now, almost 30 years later, WWII is going well and strong, gaining momentum every event. Unlike Civil War or Rev War, WWII is not done for the crowds, so there isn't this "built-in" base of people who know about it, AND... we have to pay our own way, we don't get free food, ammo and t-shirts nor are we paid to come to events -- there is no large spectator base to pay for this. We have to pay our own way, but then again, we are free to do it OUR way!
Now THIS is a great WWII Video! Sure you don't wanna, maybe do WWII?
(If you've got a great WWII reenactment video you've done, why not let us know... YouTube... a great resource for all of us!)
If you grew up on shows like Combat or Rat Patrol., maybe this is for you. If you watched movies like A Bridge Too Far or The Longest Day or Where Eagles Dare, then perhaps WWII Reenacting is for you... If you liked Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan... well, you get it. WWII is something other time periods aren't and it's well worth checking it out.

Articles
The "Morsels of Authenticity" page is going along, but still have little on Allied articles -- you'd think there were no Allied units that have newsletters or write anything on their impression. So, right now it consists of German articles, but we hope to have some other good ones soon. Especially on the Soviet Front. Also, the WWII Articles stuff has been separated into a new page, also appearing in the menu bar!
To add your unit link, please go to our link-add page.
If you find a problem in this time/area or would like your unit listed please feel free to e-mail the WW2 T/A webmasters: Harry Coombs, Rob Haught or Tom Planinshek.
