News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go to http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,167.html and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!

In 1998 we started building a western frontier town. Now, we have achieved our goal and we have a total of 14 buildings, all furnished inside and out! We have a two-story Saloon, First National Bank, O.K. Corral, Blacksmith, Sheriff's Office, Log Cabin Jail, Church, Barber Shop, Bath House, Brothel, Lawyer's Office, Mercantile, Pony Express Station, Trapper's Cabin, Indian village location, wagons, buggies, covered wagons, props, outfits, etc… Every building is complete, inside and out with props and items which were of the time period, between 1840-1880.  We and fellow re-enactors portray such characters as; cowboys, Indians, Confederate & Union troops, Cavalry, Bushwhackers, Mountain Men, Saloon girls, portrayals of Custer, The Earps, and more!  This town has already sparked the interest from such magazines as "Persimmon Hill", Cowboys & Indians, Wild West Magazine and "The American West".  Our town was also featured in the 2008 August issue of the “Wild West Magazine”.
The Old West of this page is defined loosely as the legend and reality of 19th Century America
 west of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers
 and anything and anybody associated with it, past and present.
 After all, the Old West is not really a time or a place but a state of mind.
                                                                                                                                                 Jim Janke

Jim Janke's Emporium is a great site for many topics.  This portion is about the Old West, Native Americans and the Frontier.
Living History Archers Club (Michigan & Midwest)
  The Living History Archers Club portrays the martial archer from 2700 B.C. to 1800 A.D.
  We are an historical reenactment and competition club as well as a primitive and traditional archery group.  We conduct archery tournaments and gatherings for both the primitive and traditional shooter (no compounds).
  For clarification purposes, we divide the time periods as follow;
Ancient [2700 B.C. - 700 A.D.]
Medieval [701 A.D. - 1700 A.D.]
Native American [1500 A.D. - 1800 A.D.]
Crazy Crow Trading Post is pleased to provide this Native American Indian Powwow & Mountain Man Rendezvous calendar listing to both promote these events and organizations and to assist you in learning of them.
