    My name is Vance Cannell ,I'm 14 years old but I will be turning 15 on August 12, 08 and I have a few adult friends who are in a 9 SS unit based here in CA. I want to start reenacting as HJ to fight with them and just enjoy reenacting for the sake of reenacting, butmthere is one problem... I DON'T KNOW WHTA EXACTLY I NEED TO START!  I know basic gear like my knife and such, but it is the uniform I am not shure about.  PLease if any one has information on what I am going to need or at least you can direct me to a person or place that can tell me, I would be very greatful.

    What is the minimum age that they have for a member to join their unit? I was a member of an SS unit here in Texas where 15 was the minimum age we allowed to enter with signed permission from their parents. Granted, not all units are like that, but you might want to check with them and just go ahead and start purchasing your SS uniform and equipment instead of an HJ uniform that you will hardly use and will be near impossible to find.

    Very true. Find out the age requirement first. That way you will not be asking yourself HJ or SS due to it being the 9th SS. Most likely you will be gathering a SS impression first unless you want to do just straight HJ but late war would be common to see recruits getting younger.
