reenactor.Net, THE Online, Worldwide Home of Living History Forums
News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go to http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,167.html and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!

    Canal Basin Park

    101 Canal Street

    Hollidaysburg, PA 16648

    Introduction:
Close your eyes and imagine you are back in the 1940's. This was a decade to remember. There were many famous people including Dwight D. Eisenhower, F. D. Roosevelt and Jackie Robinson. Great musicians such as Bing Crosby, Billie Holiday and Aaron Copland. The Frisbee, Plastic and Computers were invented in this decade also. The 1940's were dominated by World War II which sent men off to war and placed women in the work force. Rationing affected the food we ate, the clothes we wore and the toys with which children played.

Well, now you don't have to Imagine it! Just come to Canal Basin Park in historic Hollidaysburg, PA and LIVE IT!

We'll have delicious foods to choose from. Live entertainment to laugh or tap your toes to. Antiques to look at and buy. Things for the kiddies to do and most of all, you'll be helping the families of local soldiers being deployed to Iraq this year!

So mark it on your calenders and come on out for a Rip-Roar'in good time and remember to come hungry!
