News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go to http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,167.html and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!

It is going to take place on the grounds of a 4-H camp. We get to use almost 900 acres of the 2000 acre site. Like the flyer says, there are a dozen buildings, and we get to shoot from and run around in 3 of them. The buildings are up on a hill, with corn fields nearby, and makes a nice village. There are a couple streams to cross, and woods with horse trails big enough to drive a jeep down. I've looked over the site, and I think it'll be an awsome event. Hope to see y'all there! Franz.

On October 18th, they are having Halifax Harvest Days. It's like a really small fair. But one would get the chance to check out the future battlefield, see a couple public battles, and meet some reenactors. It is free!

Preregistration is due by October 31st. The USO club will be open for a get together Saturday night after the event, with 1940's music and units bring their own refreshments. Allies and Germans will switch between offense and defense on 900 acres, so both will have well rounded fun!

You can register and pay at the gate, so you can show up even if you haven't preregistered. We are also looking for umpires if anyone is interested. You must be at least 18.

It was a great time at the event, even though it rained the night before. The dorms were made available, so most slept in comfort. There were about 70 folks at the event, with a few more germans than allies. Guess the rain scared them off. But the weather Saturday was dry and the action fierce. Allies sprinting through thin woods to advance on the edge of town. Fighting around the buildings to push the allies back out. Shootouts in the scrub on one flank of the town as allies attempted to flank. And later, the german CO with escort attempted to rejoin the rest of the german force, and managed to fight it's way through the allied lines. Hopefully we will be able to do it again next year without weather scaring folks from coming. Thanks to all those who came, and hope to see y'all again!

We usually have a West Front event at about the same time every year, but have not decided where to have it yet. Check this forum sometime around August.
