Wanted to just to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Brandon, I am 21 years old and live in Salem, Alabama (about 25 minutes east of Auburn).  Anyway, my main interest lies into First World War reenacting, as a German of course.  I have been studying several unit sites and already have a rifle (with lange sight of course), M16 helmet from German Helmets inc, a breadbag from Steve Fischer, and a Feldmutze from Great War militaria.  Haven't decided on a unit yet, just know that I want to be a plain 'ol infantryman.  Hopefully i will be able to get to Newville in the next decade Wink.

Well, let me introduce our unit, IR23. We are a unit, rebuilding one that had went away in the GWA. We have a nice mix of veteran WWI reenactors and guys new to WWI. Our goal is authenticity, yet we believe it needs to be fun. It needs to have "Kameradschaft."

Give us a look at www.ir23.org  WWI

Thanks for the welcome Marsh.  IR 23 is one unit I am seriously considering joining, I think I may have talked to you or someone else at some point.  I have been trying to study the German army, through books and the internet mostly.  I have been on the Trenchline for some time now which has been very helpful.  The two big things that is holding me back is (1. the distance and (2. trying to get an actual career started.  But then again carpooling is always an option.German
