February 21, 2008
Vern "Ol Coon" Miller 76, Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2008. He was a retired Telephone Repairman for Ameritech and Maintenance Inventory Clerk for Indy Parks Department. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Wolf Creek Muzzle Loaders, the N.R.A., a coach for Eagledale Football, a volunteer at the Indiana State Museum, and a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Miller. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Dunn Miller; children, Bruce and Paul (Dee) Miller; grandchildren, Logan (Nathan) Ertel, Easton Miller, Jessica Miller; and brother-in-law, David Dunn. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, February 22, 2008 at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center-Speedway. Services will be at 1 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the funeral center. Burial will follow at Floral Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army. www.flannerbuchanan.com
