Greetings. I have been to SOV III, IV & VI. I have had a decent time each I went. We were lucky to not have any rain to delay any of these events. The site is well gone over for the planned scenarios prior to events and these events are run by reenactors rather than promoters or some local government entity. Early March in SC is perfect for reenacting. The Jerries that come are top notch, there is a balanced US force and a fair amount of Brits attend. There is no running to the sound of shooting allowed. YAY !!!! Safety is monitored as I see it. At SOV VI I got a huge amount of trigger time on my gas Vickers MG. I ride 10 hours one way to these events when hauling the 15cwt and fuel costs me plenty. It was an 8 hour ride for SOV VI due to not hauling the 15cwt. The cost and effort is worth it in my humble opinion. Looking forward to future SOV events.
