reenactor.Net, THE Online, Worldwide Home of Living History Forums
News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go to http://www.reenactor.net/forums/index.php/page,167.html and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!

    22-24 October 2010, Southern France
    The “Champagne Campaign”
Advance to the “Var River Line”
Ft Belle Fontaine, St. Louis, MO

“Operation Dragoon” began on 15 August 1944, the Airborne phase of “Dragoon” ended on the night of 16-17 August as the First Airborne Task Force made contact with elements of the 36 Infantry Division of the Seaborne Forces which then came under VI Corps control. The mission now was to protect the eastern flank of the Seventh Army moving up the Rhone Valley and to assault the Var River Line and capture the city of Nice, followed with an advance up to the Maritime Alps and the Franco/Italian border.

The members of the First Special Service Force, 6th CO, 3rd REG in cooperation with the 68th Armored Infantry Battalion, 14th Armored Division invite you to participate in a Southern France tactical battle at Ft Belle Fontaine, St. Louis, MO the weekend of 22-24 October 2010.

This will be a three day event with the tactical on, 23 October.  We will run three scenarios in multiple lanes using OC’s, (Observers Controllers).  Pre-registration is requested to aid in the planning.

All Axis and Allied Units are welcome, all correct military vehicles and crew served weapons are welcome.  Partisans must contact the event organizers in advance with a photo and complete information about your impression, French resistance is encouraged, Soviet Units please contact event organizers in advance.

There will be period camping along Cold Water Creek at the WPA Bath Houses and Picnic areas, Allied and Axis camps are encouraged from Friday - Sunday as all activates will take place in that area. Non-period camping is allowed in a different area, Motel is nearby.

Vendors are free and will have the use of the bath houses; there are no roofs so bring large tarps to create a roof by draping them over the walls.

See the event Web-site for details and check often for up-dates.

    Thank you,
S/SGT Adkins, First Special Service Force, 6th CO, 3rd REG
