Have been asking the vendors in the US about the possibility of making the Romanian uniform. I checked out Schipperfabrik to see about any updates. Paul had the following impressions before 1939 Poland and 1940 Belgium and France. He just added a Hungarian uniform set. I contacted him to see about doing Romanian (third time in a year) and he said if there is enough interest in the Hungarian then he would consider adding more. So if there is enough interest in Romanian then he'll add it. His quality is good and prices are great for coming from the US compared to other vendors. Can we drum up support for other impressions? Maybe enough to add Romanian and Italian. Already said I would send him some of my stuff to use for prototypes. Check out the section WWII Products.

Latest from Schipperfabrik on the Romanian uniform:

The tunic, trousers and hat will run around $375 for size 46 and below. Above 46 will run $405. We will try and meet your October deadline, but we are extremely busy right now. Please start having people gather money and once we have reached 5 orders, we will commence with production.

    Thanks!

That's pretty darned cool that they'd take the leap like that! Hardly anyone would, especially the ones that operate in a more mass-production fashion. Depends on how you gear it up.... I know that as a former employee, At the Front would never do this for instance, he'd have to totally interrupt the assembly line of other stuff that will readily sell. Vendors like that don't necessarily mean to be meanies, it's just that they're looking at operating their business as smoothly as possible. Perhaps Schipperfabrik has a more "cottage" approach and operation....

Anyway, good to see that there will be other uniforms running around out there Smiley

Schipper now has the Romanian uniform in production. It is great to see a vendor willing to take risks to help open the hobby to more impressions. He has Polish 1939 and to add more fun to 1940 there is France and Belgium. Now he has two Eastern European nations as well. Everyone (not literally) always says they would like to see more impressions available so lets see who takes the plunge. WWII wasn't just the US vs. Germany/Japan. His site also says Marine and British coming soon as well.

Here are pics of the Romanian uniform that Peter sent after he received his uniform. Looks top notch all the way.

Here are the impressions that they offer:

    1939 Polish
1940 French, Belgium and now Dutch
    WWII Hungarian
    WWII Romanian

Made in the USA and for decent prices. No longer an excuse not to expand your opportunity to learn a different nation or time period in the hobby. BTW, the Romanian and Hungarian uniforms are great!

In a couple of weeks we'll be having an event attended by Romanians and even a Hungarian.  I'm hoping to get some photos of the kit put together, and will post them here.

Having seen your uniforms in person.... Schipper does a great job! Very high quality and for a good price.
