    hello my name is dakota and im from the central illinois region. I am fourteen years old and im looking to reenact the soviet union and suggestions about how i could start.

    Dakota, the thing is, you pretty much have to be 18 to reenact WWII. However, if you are set on being a Frontovik, I suggest you use the time until you CAN reenact, to build your kit and impression. Why not take some classes and LEARN Russian? That would help you. Also, you can make sure you have the best kit possible, a good uniform, gear and a good rifle. And really, in that time you can make sure you have everything you'll need, including things like a pack, a "Plash-palatka" (rain cape/shelter half), winter gear, etc. DO IT RIGHT and you'll never have a problem finding a good unit. Use your time wisely to build a good impression -- you won't regret it. Don't rush, don't settle from crap... buy the best and only dead-on stuff. The day you turn 18, you will be 100% ready to go.

    For our unit 16 years of age is fine. If you can drive a car you can reenact WW II.
     Why be so harsh with age? I have seen too many  16 years olds go to Civil War due to the 18 age thing. We need new and younger blood in the hobby.
