93rd Sutherland Highlanders 1854 Crimean War

Previous post is 2008 so I added a new topic. My Dad's Dad was Senior  Shipwright, or carpenter, on the USS Yankee 1898-?. John Paul Hoffman, born 1873 - died 1963, working on the rest. I don't have his service record but older Uncles & Aunts have mementos of his service. He had 2 wives and 26 kids total, I grew up in his house for my first half dozen years, my Dad being his youngest and last to leave the nest. He is buried in Arlington Cemetary near the back wall and Fort McNair, real close to the Civil War Confederates on Jackson Circle. More to come.

    Cheers, Johnnie, 93rd Highlanders 1812-1858.
