Mike, what can you tell us about this Reenactor Fest? Do you have a schedule? Any speakers? Sounds awesome!

I'm not Mike, but I am going to jump in here.
Reenactor fest is the best! Check out
www.reenactorfest.com
for more info on schedules and such (which I imagine aren't set yet, anyway). It's truly a convention for the ages. Everyone from Medieval - Modern era is welcome to participate, attend, shop and meet new friends from across time in the reenacting hobby. Each day features lectures and presentations on different historical subjects - if you like history - this is the place to be. One of my favorite lectures from Chicago was one by Annie Metz - she brought quite a few original garments from the 18th century that we were allowed to examine and touch! There are also presentations and performances from musical groups and reenacting units offing tactical demonstrations and lessons (the Romans were a huge draw in Chicago).
This is a great convention for anyone interested in history and reenacting, even if you are a newbie to livng history, or a seasoned veteran. In addition to all the great presentations and entertainment there is (ahem) great shopping (ahem).
And then there are the nightly parties. Tons of fun. I hope to see you there!
