    Beloved people!!

RF4 truly did rock... best year ever!  Attendance was 700 paid (550 the year before) and 250 vendors, presenters, performers and little bastards that snuck in!  laugh

Everybody had a great time by all reports, and people are signing up for RF5 already. I am looking at new hotels to host us already, so keep your fingers crossed. We have truly outgrown the Sheraton and I am tired of the unhappy guests.

I'd love to get a celebrity there (other than Phil) for RF5. I am racking my brain to come up with a guy that has done multiple historical roles as a supporting actor.

Anybody spring to mind? Somebody that was in The Patriot, Saving Private Ryan, Gettysburg and All Quiet on the Western Front would be ideal...

Hmmm, what does Sean Bean do these days?
Adam Baldwin... he's been in a few war movies (AND of course Firefly/Serenity, hehe). Actually, he's accessible, from what I've seen he loves doing fan appearances.
What about Tommy Flanigan (Maximus' aide Cicero in "Gladiator", one of William Wallace's men in "Braveheart")?

Thanks for the "celeb-kinda" status there, Colonial boy! :-P

Animal Mother of course.... not to forget "the Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne" Smiley

Yes, he might well come to something like this. He does the Firefly/Serenity fan circuit (at sci-fi cons) all the time, so might be worth a shot.

    Oooh, guy from Firefly, yes!!

Ahem.  I mean...  "Oooh... authentic guy from serious war movies, yes!!"

How about Nathan Fillion, the captain from Firefly?  He was in Saving Private Ryan.  And Alan Tudyk, the Firefly pilot, was in A Knight's Tale, which was sort of history-based... sort of...

I think I need to get myself to a sci fi convention.  Smiley

Re. Sean Bean:  Don't know if he's involved or not, but according to the Bernard Cornwell site, a NEW " Sharpe" movie is currently in production.... " Sharpe's Perill ".  --More Sharpe is always good news!.....

Honestly I don't know if you would get him to fly over for RF... they say he is absolutely terrified of flying.  Now I have heard rumors, rumors remind you so I have no idea as to the truth behind them, but Jeff Daniels,  George Washington, Chamberlain of Gettysburg, and a number of history related programs is said to be very pro history and very interested in reenacting... again, I don't know how true this is....

Philonivs, you're my new favorite person.  I shall find you and talk Firefly with you at the next Fest.   Smiley

re: other guest ideas (not that we really need any more, now that we have successfully merged sci fi stars into RF, creating the perfect convention): What about Rick Schroeder?  He did The Lost Battalion - don't we already have a guy who's got a whole display on that?  That might be some nice symmetry.

How about Lieutenant Dan?  Gary Sinise is a local boy.
