WW2 board game? I've played Command Decision and some hybrid stuff that gamers came up with.

Man, haven't touched that stuff in AGES........

    Yeah sounds like fun.
I still like pushing lead/plastic around a felt battel field. (granted my wargame of choise is not historic but Sci-fi)

Well... my historical wargamers bailed out. Therefore we are turning that room into "cool movies all day."  We'll play a few episodes of SHARPE'S, and classics like "Gettysburg", "Cross of Iron" so on and so forth.

I haven't given up on wargaming though... 2009 perhaps!

Well, that kinda sucks, I was starting to look forward to it. Then again, I remember spending WAY too much con time at the gaming table, and not enough doing the other activities (when I did some gaming at sci-fi conventions, centars ago!)! And I do want to move around... heard that there's plenty to hit  Smiley

It was disappointing to be let down by those guys, but that is the problem with being a "fan convention" -- we are at the mercy of volunteers. If (when) we get bigger we will be able to hire folks to do stuff like this and then they will be accountable. The truth is we should enjoy it while it's small and friendsly. If we ever get to Dragon*Con size it will be a zoo (but I'll be a millionaire and all you that supported it early will get in free and have an open bar tab!!)  laugh

I think the movie room will be fun. I expect it to be a place where you can bring your beer in, sit down, and have fun. Folks will be allowed to be noisy and fun. If you kno wthe next line or whatever, shouting it out will be totally acceptable. Give me suggestions for movies to show!

    -The 300 Spartans (the original)
    -Gallipoli
    -Kingdom of Heaven
    -The Rough Riders (90's version)
    -Zulu
    -Doctor Zhivago
    -Lawrence of Arabia
    -Platoon
-Richard III (yes, the Ian Mckellen/1930's one, what the hell!)

Ok time to get this back on track.  (nerds.......oh wait I'm one also laugh)
I would like to add a film or two but Philonivs Maximvs listed all of the ones that I could think of.
Oh just thought of one 'The Last Valley" it's a 30yrs war film that's not the 3 musketers.
Heck I just got the World War2 with Walter Cronkite (for free! Grin) I could bring them, this was the one done in the late 70's I think. Lots of old footage and interviews with the people from both sides, granted most of the interviews were done in the 60's and often were the big wigs not Joe Average. But still good.

I secured the use of a projection TV to watch the movies on. That should be pretty cool!
