    I agree that the cost of operating most warbirds is prohibitive.  I flew Hueys in the Army and they just are not cheap.  Other hand my CAP unit was give a Nieuport kit which is still hanging in our rafters waiting for someone to take responsibility for completing it.

    In Mountain City, TN there was a 3/4(?) scale pretty P-51 that had been hangared for years and the owner was asking $10K but would probably take less.  I have run into some sort of kit plane potential deal at about every other airport that I fly into.  Even if it is out of FAA compliance, if the price is right one could make a great static display.
