News: We are happy to announce that we have our new "link mod" working—our programmer out-did himself on making it!! The program allows YOU to add your link yourself, unlike the old "add-me form" we had. Please, go here and add your unit's link, if we don't have it. For that matter, you can update links too. We still have many of the old links up, as it is a process to do a lot of them. However, we will be working to update links as fast as possible-- soon, ALL the unit links and historical links will be done this way!!

Well, the turkey is digested (mostly), and I'm looking forward to Reenactorfest 3 in Gettysburg next weekend.  But I'm curious to see what kind of periods and impressions people are planning to bring to the event.  If you plan to attend, please vote and then write a little bit about the specific impression.  I've used the same time period categories that are used on the main Reenactor.net page, so please try to fit in with these, and don't say "But Peter, you need to add a special category for the Modoc Indian war of 1872-1873" (and believe me, people will).  If you are bringing more than one impression, vote for your best one.

As for me, I'm planning for:
Day 1: 1914 German Infantry
Day 2: 1939 German Infantry
Day 3: 1939 Polish Infantry

Looking forward to seeing everybody there!

Peter

Alas, due to work's demand (i.e. we got a big new Mail contract and I am the "fireman" who get's to put out the fires and help start new runs), I shall be leaving for Chicago Wednesday  sad So, have fun for me... once again work has "kept me down." Ain't like back in the day, when I could just tell the boss "No, I'm a goin' see ya when I get back!" Now that person is me Banging head on wall

Rats, Marsh, that sucks!!  We'll miss you.

Hey, it says 50 percent of us will be Ancient, cool beans!  Oh, wait, that's with only 2 votes so far...   All seriousness aside, I'll be there with my Bronze Age stuff.  Mycenaean one day, c. 1000 BC, and Central/Western European "Urnfield" the next.  Or maybe the other way around!  Anyway, I'll be doing a show-and-tell of all the stuff on both days, so everything will be there to fondle and drool over.

    Khairete!

I'll be WW2 RAF the whole weekend. In past years, I wore "professional" clothes all day (khakis and polo shirt) and only dressed at night. This year I am shite-canning the professional clothes and will be in reenacting kit the whole time!

I am bumming heavily about Marsh's bad news... but people gotta pay the bills.

As for who is coming in an official capacity (ie: a display or demo) we have Romans, two Medieval groups, Mr. Amt doing Bronze Age, the 12th SS, and of course lots of Civil war folks. It will be a great show!

Wow!  41 views and only 3 votes.  C'mon people, if you're in this section of the forum, presumably at least some of you are coming to Reenactorfest.  Let's hear from you.  I wanna know whom I'm going to be dancing with at the Ball.   Wink

I am breaking out my new Rev War kit.  It's so new the "shiny" hasn't worn off yet - RFIII will be it's debut.  My jacket was made by the lovely ladies at Turkey Roost - and I am looking forward to showing it off.  Will also be bringing my 1812 day dress.

Marsh - I am bummed that I don't get to meet you in person.  Darn work responsibilities!
