Jump on in and tell us all. I've done German since 1991. Was doing Gebirgs, but I am now old and fat, so I am looking into Luftwaffe Ground Troop.

Was protraying the 18th Luftwaffe Feld Division, but it split up and fell apart. So now I am currently bumming. No real unit yet. What is bad, is that I bring nice items to the table. I have (2) MG42's, (1) MG34, (3) MP40's, and (3) PPSH41's, and various other G43's, K98's and everything else you can think of. So you would think I could find a nice unit to play with.

1st SS as part of KG Sonnenwende. I'm new to this unit, but have been reenacting, German and Allied, since 1988. My personal impression is of a Kriegsmarine U-Boat crewman who was on his way back to Lorient from leave in Bavaria June 1944, but couldn't get back due to the invasion. So of course I "volunteered" to join with my Waffen SS Kameraden to fight back against the Ami's. That's how I expalin my 43 year old self be ing a WSS Schutze. I will be falling out at FIG with the KG for the first time next week.

I've been doing WW2 German since about 1992.  I started out with 12 Komp., 2nd SS which is part of the previously mentioned KG Sonnenwende.  It's a great unit made up mostly of current/ex-military types.  I'm not active with these guys any more, but I'll be rejoining them for a reunion of the founding members at FIG next week.

I am currently active with Chicago-based IR104, which specializes in a 1940 Heer impression.  Our next big event will be a WW2 timeline in Joliet, IL in June.

Have been reenacting with the 5 Komp 10th SS since 2002. Last year decided to add another impression for WWII and picked up my wife's home country, Romania. Thought that this would add more portrayls of the other countries to begin to start in the the hobby.

After 17 plus years in the hobby it would be nice to say, I have been with the same unit but that is not the case:

I started with the 9th SS Hohenstaufen of the CHG in Southern California in 1989.  Even though the unit was based in Northern California, as was I.  So, in 1991 when the unit along with the other units from Northern California split to form the CHS, I did too.  Even after my move in 1995 to Southern California, I stayed with the 9th SS.  It would not be until 2002 that I would rejoin the CHG, this time as a member of the 352nd Inf. Div.  A unit that I knew well, because I had helped in many ways to form it.  A unit that I will miss; that is right, I moved again.  This time to Oregon where I am pretty sure that I will be joining....drum role....the 9th SS Hohenstaufen, this time of the PNWHG.  It is funny how life comes full circle.  The first event that I will be able to attend is coming up in Feb.

I guess I could have just said I portray a member of an SS unit?

Guten Abend Kameraden, I am Sanitats-Unteroffizier Trummel (and sometimes Gefreiter Trummel) with the 352. Infanterie Division (CHG) and 5te. Kompanie (RPS) out here on the Left Coast.  I really like the Forum idea and am also possibly looking into doing a WWI German Impression.

Now need to find the Geld for that too  Grin

Oh Yeah, sometimes I go by the moniker of Rob Shelley too  Cool
