    Greetings to all Seventeenth Century living history groups, reenactment groups, and sutlers;
    Historic Saint Mary's City and the St. Maries Citty Militia invite all to The Grande Militia Muster at Saint Mary's City, Maryland, October 3--5, 2008.  Mark your calendars and prepare to compete in period musketry, pistol, crossbow, artillery drill, cooking, costume, ensign, et ceteraSt. Mary's City is the original and ancient seat of government of the proprietarie colony of Maryland, from 1634 to 1695.  Judging for the Peterkin Trophy for overall excellence will be by MacLean's Company, the winners for 2007.

    Camping, as usual, will be on the grounds of the reconstructed 1676 Maryland State House, with nearby facilities for showering and hygiene.  Various hotels are situated in Lexington Park seven miles away for those seeking comfort.

    For information, contact me: Ernest Willoughby, adjutant, St. Maries Citty Militia, e-mail: ejwilloughby@aol.com
