    Brainstorming guest speakers?
Ken Burns or someone connected with him?

Some of the episodes seem a little dumbed down for the general public, but what about someone from the PBS show history detectives?

If you are talking about those who do historical films, try to find those who do have an interest in what we do...they will be a whole lot more responsive to our needs.  I agree with the Captain regarding Jeff Daniels, he is a big history nut and would be an interesting addition to the seminars.

Now that RF5 is in the planning...and a new hotel that is being looked into, I do hope that the crowds will be bigger than ever!

    More room for more pyrates!

You pyrates are too cool....man, how do I get into that cool-cat club?? hehe
Seriously, I'd love to do it, I just have a few other things on my reenacting plate first. And admittedly, pyrate would be one of those things that I'd do only at RF or something.

Y'all should journey to Ft. Meigs for "Muster on the Maumee", that is, unless you already don't! June 14-15: http://www.fortmeigs.org/events2008.htm

Anyway, RF......... very cool. Yes, it seemed that the hotel was quite loaded... as evidenced by the stacks of empty bottles!! haha
Doesn't matter where we go, build it and Phil will come  Grin

Well, my ultimate goal in life is to have my own boat and live on the high seas in search of adventure (and cashy-money!), so might as well get pyrate duds! I'll be a-talkin' to one of ya soon then  Wink

Yeah, I don't know how your attire would fit into a river-pirate scheme, but that might be all too appropriate for a place like Ft. Meigs (which is an 1812-era fort, rebuilt).

From what I have seen of one group of River Pirates and what little I have read regarding them in the US, their hey day is much later than the Golden Age of Pyracy... from what I have seen of said group, their attire looks much more mid to late 18th century...

That might be the Great Lakes River Pirates. Their website describes them as portraying "River Piracy as it was practiced inland on the Lakes and Rivers of the 18th and early 19th C"

Have met Jay, very nice chap, but unfortunately I have not had the honor of being formally introduced to Tracy as of yet. We should be crossing swords, or at least, shooting at each other come Pike's River this summer. Grin
