Bring it to the Big Apple baby! NYC has everything you would want to see of historical importance or at least locations of where things once stood.

Too bad Chicago seems to be the place especially since the 2009 weekend is my b-day weekend.

Oh man!  I can only imagine the issues that would come up with an RF in NYC - primarily with anybody wanting to do any WW2 Axis.  The nice thing about PA in general - and Gettysburg in particular - is that pretty much anything goes there.  One of the biggest draws at the last Gettysburg RF was my old SS unit, and they came complete with 3 heavy mortars, an MG42, an MP40, and enough other firepower to drive Bloomburg into seizures.   

The big trick with any possible future RF in Gettysburg is timing.

Gettysburg and NYC have something in common... neither will be the home for the next East Coast RF! 

G'burg is too far from a major metro area, and NYC is just too expensive. As a matter of fact, the whole East Coast is damn expensive.

We'll be back there though... that is for certain!

Well for the East Coast region I am in the major cities would be Boston, Providance, NYC, Philly, Washington D.C. and Baltimore. You could also look at some other cities like Pittsburgh but think to get the New England guys would have to be 3-5 hours drive tops. Sorry guys but you're not known for driving 8+ hours to get to an event (well that's what they say in the Mid-Atlantic region).

Boston and Providence are too far North for the Southerners... NYC is too expensive and would stroke out at us Axis folks, plus the anti-gun thing. Philly is a shitehole and too crime-ridden and anti-gun. Same w/ Baltimore and the Dissick o'Crack. I agree, Northern Virginia might work. Gun friendly, centered to most people... just a thought. Pittsburgh does have the Max Show but it's far from most people. I vote NoVa!!

Much of "western Maryland" is excellent too. In Frederick, MD for example, you are an hour from BWI airport, have over 300 historic sites within 100 miles, it has an event complex. There are quite a few hotel choices. It is far enough from D.C. to be sensible about the weaponry, but close enough to have the "big city" amenities.

Northern VA is still far for most people this way. If looking at MD, then maybe Frederick (know the owners of Kirby Pontiac so benn there) it might work but would like to be further from DC like Cumberland, MD is. There is also Morgantown, WV which is easy on the pockets as well and in a very gun friendly state.

To get to Frederick, you basically have to go to NoVa, then up to "Fredneck."  BTW< MD is very un-gun friendly. Morgantown is a LONG way out of the way, unless you live in Pittsburgh.
