The uniforms and equipment of the IJA were sturdy and well designed -- they did the job well. They were different than the flashier Germans and built to a different standard, but overall, the kit worked out well. To Americans, things seem "wierd" and "shoddy," but they're not, they;re just different. These items served their purpose well and deserve further study.
