What would you like to see at events
« on: December 15, 2007, 05:17:26 PM »
As a Event Coordinator I am always trying to find new ideas to improve our event in Dunkirk ,NY. Also what things would you like to see at any event that is not done yet?
I have in planning only a Real A Bridge Too Far or Remagen River crossing here in PA. I am looking at a railroad tactical too on a abandoned bed area, heavy forest and farm areas too.
This idea would be Germans starting at one end of the line and GI's the other end. This would be or could be under 10 miles. With bridges that can still hold troops and possible vehicles.
We in the 99th are trying to help make some new and fun events for us reenactors and the public alike. Our events are not into politics or  "rumor milling" other units who host events too. We all should work together and not try to destroy everyone who's not part of their event.

 Any ideas would be great--

Would love to see more air power at events. Doesn't seem that LARA and the Allies are showing up a lot in the air.

Aircraft would be a great idea. I'll have to hit some local airshows, maybe I have some period aircraft in my area. Would be neat to have spotter planes at events. Units could radio them to find troop movements and defense areas.

Keep the ideas coming--

I agree with you for both sides. A reenactment turns real when each side gives good hits. For our Dunkirk event we didn't have to worry about hit taking. We had tons of them. I too hate the folks who only take off their helmets and walk away. Our unit trains in hit taking just like using period tactics goes hand and hand. We hope through good hit taking others will follow.
