Title: Veterans of Future Wars
Post by: groomporter on May 04, 2008, 10:20:03 AM
Maybe it's time to re-establish this idea  >:D

Young men satirically demanded to be paid their war bonuses before they went off to fight:

Why? I'm too old to get a bonus. Hey, wait, I should get something for being in during Grenada ??? We need a president like Teddy Roosevelt, not the simpering liars we have now.  |||

Well it would be a boost to the economy...  >:D

It was interesting to read that all but two of the original Princeton students who founded the Veterans of Future Wars as a satire/prank in the 1930's, did eventually serve in World War Two. (Of the two who did not serve, one was injured in an automobile accident, and the other worked in an essential industry.)
