Jump on in and tell us all. I've done German since 1991. Was doing Gebirgs, but I am now old and fat, so I am looking into Luftwaffe Ground Troop.
1st SS - have been doing it for a one year and a half. Will be going to FIG for the first time. ;D
Was protraying the 18th Luftwaffe Feld Division, but it split up and fell apart. So now I am currently bumming. No real unit yet. What is bad, is that I bring nice items to the table. I have (2) MG42's, (1) MG34, (3) MP40's, and (3) PPSH41's, and various other G43's, K98's and everything else you can think of. So you would think I could find a nice unit to play with.
Sorry forgot to put my numbers of years reenacting. I have been doing German since 1999.
1st SS as part of KG Sonnenwende. I'm new to this unit, but have been reenacting, German and Allied, since 1988. My personal impression is of a Kriegsmarine U-Boat crewman who was on his way back to Lorient from leave in Bavaria June 1944, but couldn't get back due to the invasion. So of course I "volunteered" to join with my Waffen SS Kameraden to fight back against the Ami's. That's how I expalin my 43 year old self be ing a WSS Schutze. I will be falling out at FIG with the KG for the first time next week.
I've been doing WW2 German since about 1992. I started out with 12 Komp., 2nd SS which is part of the previously mentioned KG Sonnenwende. It's a great unit made up mostly of current/ex-military types. I'm not active with these guys any more, but I'll be rejoining them for a reunion of the founding members at FIG next week.
I am currently active with Chicago-based IR104, which specializes in a 1940 Heer impression. Our next big event will be a WW2 timeline in Joliet, IL in June.
Have been reenacting with the 5 Komp 10th SS since 2002. Last year decided to add another impression for WWII and picked up my wife's home country, Romania. Thought that this would add more portrayls of the other countries to begin to start in the the hobby.
I am also with 2nd SS 12 Komp, again, part of KG sonnenwende, been there since Sept. 2003
Also been doing russian with the 9th guards since Oct 2004
Hey Mr Geyer! (I wont use your first name), see you at FIG
Been doing 10th SS since 1995.
I am the current CO for 5th Komp 10th SS.
I have been going the 5th Gebirgsj?ger Division since 1997
Been doing 5. Komp./21. Panzer for 4 years and love every day of it.
After 17 plus years in the hobby it would be nice to say, I have been with the same unit but that is not the case:
I started with the 9th SS Hohenstaufen of the CHG in Southern California in 1989. Even though the unit was based in Northern California, as was I. So, in 1991 when the unit along with the other units from Northern California split to form the CHS, I did too. Even after my move in 1995 to Southern California, I stayed with the 9th SS. It would not be until 2002 that I would rejoin the CHG, this time as a member of the 352nd Inf. Div. A unit that I knew well, because I had helped in many ways to form it. A unit that I will miss; that is right, I moved again. This time to Oregon where I am pretty sure that I will be joining....drum role....the 9th SS Hohenstaufen, this time of the PNWHG. It is funny how life comes full circle. The first event that I will be able to attend is coming up in Feb.
I guess I could have just said I portray a member of an SS unit?
Guten Abend Kameraden, I am Sanitats-Unteroffizier Trummel (and sometimes Gefreiter Trummel) with the 352. Infanterie Division (CHG) and 5te. Kompanie (RPS) out here on the Left Coast. I really like the Forum idea and am also possibly looking into doing a WWI German Impression.
Now need to find the Geld for that too ;D
Oh Yeah, sometimes I go by the moniker of Rob Shelley too 8)
Feldgendarmerie Trupp 82 of the 2nd Panzer Division - we're a member group of the WW2 Living History Association.
Been doing this since 1989...
I?ve been into the hobby since 1999. I started out in Bob Petner?s 45th Infanterie Division. Then I moved on to 7th Kompanie GD, and currently I reside in Hoch 4, Gebirgs unit with Neil Heaver. (names added for familiarization).
Andreas K. Odemer
SS Gebirgsj?ger from SS Gebirgsj?ger-Regiment 12 "Michael Gai?mair". The unit fought in Finland 1941-44, first against the Soviets together with Finns and after the cease-fire briefly against the Finns before transferred to Western Front for "Operation Nordwind".
SS Gebirgsj?ger of "Michael Gai?mair" and its sister regiment "Reinhard Heydrich" were masters of forest warfare (after being taught by Finns) and long range patrols.
Our unit was founded in early 2006, I have been doing re-enacting since 1993 and I think I can honestly claim to be the first re-enactor in this country!
Started doing WW2 in 2003. I portray a Waffen SS Panzer Grenadier with the national LSSAH unit. www.lssah.com
This February will mark my 25th anniversary in the 1st SS LAH (the "National" one). Started out as a Kandidat in February 1982 and by virtue of the "Peter Principle", am now the Kommandeur. ;) It's the only unit I've ever re-enacted with.
I have done WWII German since about 2000. I first started out briefly in the LAH ( Great unit, but I realized my interests lays more with the common Heer soldaten.) Now I have a nice generic mid to late war impression and could jump in anywhere.
I have been toying with the idea ( and doing research on) the LWFD and I have thought that would be a cool impression to do. Would allow for interesting combinations of uniforms and equipment.
I also belong to the Volkssturmm list and have been trying to get to an event as VSM for a couple of years now and meet up with Otto and Herr Rip.
Too much fun to have and not enough time!
Best to all.
Another 21st PZ member here! I started in 2003. During that time I've played a rifleman, "Sani", and I'm looking into a funker impression. I like alternate impressions besides a shooter, but at the same time I like to portray troops that are organic to an infantry unit. Currently I have Gebirgsjager and Pionier impressions in the works.
My name is Henry. I am an Obergefreiter with 1/FallschirmJ?ger Regiment 2, here in California. I also will continue to reenact with the 17th Lancers, once we get a site for WW1 events. I am building two secondary impressions. One is WW2 British Paratrooper and the other is W-SS Soldat.
Take care and see you at the front!
I have been with the National LSSAH unit since February 2003. I started my reenacting career back in January 2000 with the TMHS 1.SS-Division "LSSAH", Aufkl?rungs Abteilung 1. I have been reenacting now for 7 years, and look forward to many more years in the future.
yet a nother national LAH member, Ive only been with the unit for a little over a year, though. No other reenacting experience besides them.
Started in 1995 with 1st SS LAH (HRS), switched to 3./Fallschirm Pi Btl 1 in 2000 as a founding member, based on the east coast. Been reenacting WWII for over 12 years now. Also webmaster for the Reenactors Consumer Buyers Guide on our website.

3./Fallschirm Pi Btl 1
Was portraying the 18th Luftwaffe Feld Division, but it split up and fell apart.Out of where? I'd be interested... getting kinda old to be a Gebirgsj?ger or whatever. :-0
Gott in Himmel, I almost didn't give my plug to my secondary impression, I am a Marineartillerist with the Kustenabteilung... KM Gilt on Feldgrau ist sehr sexy :-)
Pretty much everything...
I've slowly assembled the wherewithal for FJ, Heer and W-SS in several combinations. If only my real military duties gave me a chance to do more re-enacting...
I do two Heer units. In 1988 in lived in STL and started with I/ .38Jagerregiment. In the 90's I moved to the KC area, yet WWII reeacting was in its infact stage. As things progressed we have strated doing II/ .916 IR/VGR. Our web site is http://www.352nd-mlha.com/ (http://www.352nd-mlha.com/) I have enjoyed traveling for events, I have been as far as FIG and CA. I went to CA for a France 1940 event, that was nice to do early war for a change. I would like to see less elite units and more regular Heer units in WWII reeacting. I am enjoying all of the new uniform and equipment vendore there are now days. I wish we had this much choice back in the day.
I was getting my LFD impression together in 2003. Got mobilized and sent to Iraq all of 2004. So I actually started 2005. We have a small group in SE NC and VA. We do Fusilier Battalion 16, 16.Luftwaffe Field Division. There is mostly US ground and Airborne in my area. There is one Heer Unit in Fayettville, NC. But I wanted to do something different. LFD seemed the right choice.
UK based 116th Pz. Div 'Der Windhund'. Been with them for 3+ years before the I was full time Brit which I still do.
rekrut with IR134 Hoch und Deutchmeister Heer GA, FL, SC, NC.
We have a small unit of about 10 guys and we don't have a unit designation. We don't have one because we do multiple impressions from Heer Landser, Heer SturmPionier, Fallschirmjaeger and American LEG infantry (late and early war). This gives us a variety of impressions to do so we do not get burnt out on doing one impression. I did SS for 4 years and I got burnt out pretty badly. For sure our favorite impression is Heer Sturmpionier.
21st Pz. 192nd Rgt.
We are motorized infantry at the moment but are working on a Halftrack. (not fun)
We are a small group, about 9 guys, but look for quality over quantity.
About once a year we will do a partisan impression.
6 Kompanie, 60 Regiment, 116 Panzergrenadier. 15 guys, two trucks, a couple kubels being fixed up.
Im one of the unit founders with 116 Panzer in NC. We have guys from Va to SC to Europe to the middle east. Our unit is a Grenadier Kompanie (6Kp) circa 1944.
Joined FJR 2 (CA) in 1991, same Unit as Don Calder started in.
Joined FJR 6 (VA) in 1995 when on Active Duty.
Returned to CA in 2003, helped form 15. Komp./ FJR 5.
Unit Leader of FJR 5 since Fall of 2004.
Helped form II. Fallschirm-Korps. in January 2007 - an International Partnership of FJ Reenacting Units.
GermanParatrooper.org will one day be a great site with plenty of fundamental information that every FJ Rekruit, Jaeger, and NCO would be familiar with (Like how to clean a K98 properly and how to pitch a Zelttent)...Stay tuned!
Marsh and Company- once again, nice contribution to the Reenacting Community!

Nice website you've made. Perhaps I'll get the Luftwaffe Feld Div one I've started finished someday :-)
Marsh and Company- once again, nice contribution to the Reenacting Community!
I'm relatively new to this; I started in 2005.
I portray Heer Panzergrenadiers - 25th PzGren Division, but I do a relatively generic impression. I also occasionally take a foray into the "dark side" and portray 2nd SS.
I've been doing U.S. 1st I.D. since 1988 and I also do 9th SS since 2000 we have been motorized since 2001 (jeep)
and are also heavy weaponized (2 1919a4) we have a number of LEO's and have a number of MP impressions and German Feild Police
I originally started with the 28th SS way back in 1986 right out of high school and spent the better part of two years in the unit before getting married and starting a family. Needless to say I got out of reenacting for way too long. Now that my son is in college I am attempting to restart the 28th, so as of right now I am the unit co as well as being the entire unit. Oh well, have to start somewhere. I am currently portraying an SS-unterscharfuhrer and a Spanish volunteer. Figure there aren't that many doing a foreign volunteer in the SS other then the 5th, so might as well try to have a little diversity.

116. Panzerdivision/6.Kompanie in NC
Been doing it since November 2007, so almost a year! And I love it! Done about 9 events so far.
I guess I haven't done this in a while..... ;-(
I am now heading up 7.Kompanie, Fallschirmjaeger Regiment 6 (7./FJR.6) out of the US Midwest/Lakes region. We mainly portray the Regiment as they were in Normandy 1944, but also do tropical and winter events. We are in close partnership with our other "battalion mates" in 5./FJR.6 (Don Calder, CO) and 6./FJR.6 (Mike Schnieders, CO).
Coming to a hedgerow near you 8)
1st SS Aufklarung. Started out doing partisan but got to turn on some Allies once and I was hooked!
5th Gebirsjager. I'm getting my stuff together and the two guys I know, as well as some others(I apologize if I forgot your names), have been more than accomodating. I did my very first event in Waxahachie, TX. and it was great! Most games you sit around the table scarfing potato chips and sugary sodas, here you actually get some exercise. And getting to play a soldier like a big kid is always a plus. ;D
- MG34/42 Sch?tze of 1? SS-Panzerdivision "Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler";
- MG34/42 Sch?tze of Wehrmacht;
- Fallschirmj?ger tropical (Africa/Italy);
I started in 1995 with my father in 10th SS now I portray 4th SS Polizei Division and I am working on starting a Russian branch in our association. I have lots of fun and learned way more then I did in school.
Well, appearently I have managed to miss this thread over the years. ???
I started doing WW 2 in Mar 1981 at the HRS Spring Battle in Weldon Springs, Mo. By May I had a recognized Fallschirmj?ger unit - FJR1/1FJD. We've never looked back. We are the oldest continuously active Fj unit in the US.
In 1987 we became one of the 3 founding units in "The WW2 Living History Rgt" based in Colorado.
Guess that means I've been an active WW 2 reenactor for 29 years.
Hey guys I've been re-enacting for 4-5 years now. I'm in a Gebirgsjager unit called Hoch 4. It's a high mountain battalion that was organized in mid-43 and ended the war in the French Alps in 1945.
I enjoy the hobby very much and our unit is a great group of guys. I'm new to this site and I wanted to introduce myself.
3Kp 1SS In New Zealand for 8ish years
I started WWII reenacting in 1995 and was with the 2nd panzer 3rd Gruppen until it fell apart in 1997 the reenacted Falshirmjager for a couple of year's. Now I'm with the 1st SS LAH but I'm tired of driving around 10 hour's just to get to event's and would like to find a unit that reenact's closer to home.
New Forum member and do a German WWII impression of a Schreiber.
I am with the 7 Kompaine, 20 Infantrie Rgt, 10 Division which is out of
