Our goal is to be more than simply "The bad guys". We intend to run the 338th as much like a Chinese Volunteer unit as we can. In reality this is much more like the way a reenacting unit runs than the way a US Army unit functions.
The 338th was part of the 113th Division, 38th Army, and had fought in the Chinese civil war. The regiment was stationed in Shenyang province next to Korea, and crossed the Yalu into Korea on Oct. 22, 1950. A major part of Chinese policy was the fiction that all Chinese troops had volunteered for service in Korea (conveniently maintaining their prior formations), and as such the unit would have changed a few uniform items and removed all insignia from their uniforms.
