Reenactors NEEDED!!!!
« on: September 29, 2011, 04:42:55 PM »
The community of Lockport, Illinois is in need of reenactment groups to participate in the next Old Canal Days living history timeline.  The encampment will be held on Saturday & Sunday, June 16 & 17, 2012 in Lockport, Illinois.  The timeline commemorates the long and diverse history of the American experience and is just part of the many educational opportunities that are being planned at this revitalized family festival.  Although many periods are represented, such as the colonial frontier, the Civil War and WWII, there are many eras missing.  Help us fill the voids!

Participating reenactors will be provided both food and non-alcoholic beverages during the event.  Straw and firewood will also be provide upon request.  Groups that desire to camp on Saturday night may do so, but event organizers will need to know in advance.

Additionally, the festival will begin with the traditional Friday evening parade, beginning about 6:30pm on June 15, 2012.  If your group would also be willing to participate in the parade, please let event organizers know that too.

Please share this invitation with your colleagues.  If you have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to contact event organizers at your earliest opportunity at 1.815.838.9400 between 9:00am and 5:00pm weekdays, or via email (mharmon@gaylordbuilding.org).

Thank you.
