Can anyone provide some instructions on how to properly blouse keilhosen?  I have heard that there is a special way in which these were folded forward to avoid wear.

Yeah. Pull the bottom inside hem out, away from your leg, then fold it forward -- use your other hand to help. Then put on your Gamaschen. Most peple use a rubber band or strap of some kind to keep the pants leg bloused while you're puttingon your Gamaschen.
