People Joining the Ring... PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE PAGE OF INSTRUCTIONS!

[Yes, I feel like garish colours tonite! So sue me...]

This is the main page for the WWI Reenactors Webring! Web rings are a novel way to visit a multitude of pages on the same subject, just by visiting one page, and then moving onto the "next" page via a link.. They are laid out in a "ring"-like format, so that by travelling through all the pages, eventually you will arrive back at the first page you visited.

To be added into the World War I Reenactor's Webring, your page must contain information regarding WWI reenacting, or info pertinate to that. It doesn't matter what "side" you do or what branch of service, just as long as it pertains in some way to WWI. After hitting the submit button, and e-mail will be sent to you with your site ID and the ring code attached. Simply place this ring code on your page. It's set up so that the graphics will load from here, but you are more than welcome to load them into your files and change the coding if that is what you choose to do--however, I plan on changing them around every now and then, so if you leave it with the stock code, you'll get the nifty updated pix! After you have placed the code on your page, you need to e-mail me at mwise@reenactor.net and I will add you as soon as I can go check to make sure you have the code on your page. I check pages as soon as I can after I recieve the e-mail that says that they have been added to the queue, and I keep checking every few hours.

NOTICE: I have moved this WebRing to WebRingCentral.net. WHY? You are asking? Because awhile back, WebRing was assimilated by yahoo, the Borg of the Internet ;-( This sucked because yahoo, just like they ALWAYS do, proceeded to screw up the WebRing system... So with this vital knowledge under your belt, read on...

A few Disclaimers and important notes:

  • If a page submitted to the queue does NOT have the required HTML/images on the page, it will remain in the queue until the changes are made. We will AUTOMATICALLY remove sites from the queue after they sit there for THREE WEEKS. People removed from the queue have the option to re-apply.
  • To be added into the WWI Reenactors Webring, your page must contain information regarding either reenacting WWI, vendor info or information pertinate to said WWI Reenacting.
  • Please don't worry about not being added to the ring in a timely manner. I am quite busy, but I WILL get to it. I check the Ring database at least once a week or so, however I too have a real job and a real life, so it might take a few days--this is unlikely though.
  • When entering the URL for your site make sure to enter the WHOLE URL, not just www.my-site.com, you need to put in http://www.my-site.com/ otherwise the Webring Central can't find you. ALSO, put down the EXACT URL of the page you are adding the code to--we need that!
  • AGAIN, PLEASE REMEMBER! You cannot be added to the ring unless the images and links are on the page at the URL you signed up for! Please add the HTML and images to your page, before E-mailing me to add you to the ring!

IMPORTANT!!!
Again, if you have put the code on another page OTHER than the one that you submitted, the ring WON'T work and you will cause the ring to be broken--do not do this! It makes me cranky and I might have to boot you. Be good!
Again, YOU HAVE TO ENTER THE URL FOR THE PAGE EXACTLY WHERE THE WEBRING CODE IS!! (Gee, do you think he means it???) BTW, Webring Central DOES have a feature to allow you to have the code on one page and go to another page--this is mainly for sites with frames; so if you use them, USE THIS FEATURE!

IMPORTANT!!!

Again, again, again: If you have put the code on another page OTHER than the one that you submitted, PLEASE let me know which one so I don't have to search for it.
