Warning Order

Western Front

The Military Commemorative Association The next battle is scheduled for the weekend of February 4-6, 2005 at the Foresthill site near Auburn, CA. There will be a joint campsite near the vehicle parking area.

Directions to Foresthill Event site:

Make your way to scenic Auburn California which is on I-80 about 30 miles east of Sacramento. Look for the "Foresthill" exit and take that and go right at light (if coming from the East, go left). Then go through light and down hill (you will now be on Foresthill Road). You will cross over the Foresthill Bridge, the highest bridge in California and the THIRD highest in the world (or so they say—it was in the recent movie "XXX").

Now, you will follow Foresthill Road for about 15 miles or so into the town of Foresthill, don't blink, you'll miss it! The battle site is about four miles, or so, past town. You will see Finning Mill Rd. "Y" off on the left. It turns to a gravel road... Follow Finning Mill for about 5-6 miles (look for "WW2" signs). The site is a ways out, but keep going and you'll find it. IF it snows, contact Yergen as we will WILL have transportation to the site for those who need it! IN any case, bring chains!
Don't be a wimp about the weather, it should be fun!!

Food:

Plans are to have breakfast at the Starlite Inn [the old Laurie's Kitchen--yes, they changed the name], one-half mile past the US Forest Service station, look on the left (roughly across from Worton's Market) in Foresthill around 0700. All other meals will be at the battle site on Finning Mill Road. If you're not meeting for breakfast on Saturday, be ready to be at the site by 0900. We will go tactical after a safety inspection and briefing. As always, bring your own water, food and shelter, as the MCA has no unit equipment and there are no plans for a group meal.

RSVPs, No Shows

As of late, especially in inclement weather, we have had a number of no-shows. Some people RSVP'd and just never showed up. Guys, this makes planning very difficult. Please show up if you say you're going to be there. We WILL have transport out to the site if you can't get out there, just contact us--we'll get you out there. Again, if you DO plan on driving all the way out to the site, bring chains.

The battle fee will be $10.00 per reenactor; for first time players (as in a new-reenactor) and those bringing period vehicles to the battle site, the battle fee will be waived.

Anyone wishing to buy ammunition or rent a weapon (Allied or German) please contact Yergen Koschyk <yergen@foothill.net> before the battle to make arrangements. Don't wait until Friday the 24th.

PLEASE RSVP by phone or e-mail to: Yergen at 530.885.0298 (days) <yergen@foothill.net> or George Simmons at 530.888.0860 <grsim@mindspring.com>.
