Title: New from Wisconsin
Post by: prestonbros on December 18, 2007, 09:27:36 AM
Hi.  Just to introduce myself, my son's and I are new to reenacting and reside in Wisconsin.  We have been to many events in the last couple of years and wanted to get involved.  We decided to frame a show around the old time medicine shows that toured the country during the 19th and early 20th century.  We decided to do this in the best way we know how, and that is with puppets.  Now we are looking for places to go where we can be of help and show the public a lost form of entertainment, the medicine show.  I will bring the show to Oshkosh Sawdust Days in July and intend to debut in Fond du Lac at the Galloway House in mid May.  I continue to look for events or a group to join.  Thanks much for any advice, and we'll look forward to seeing you next summer.

My Word...right here in FDL?!  Well, were neighbors, Sir!  Welcome to the chat group!  Medicine shows are very popular from post Civil War up into the Mid-1890s.

There are a couple of Wild West events that may be interested on having such an addition.  Please PM off line for further information!
