8TH RENTAI

His Imperial Majesty Showa Wants You To Join!

ABOUT US!

The 8th Rentai is a formal Imperial Japanese Army reenactment group based on bringing forth learning, historical events, and to have fun. Since we are a formal unit, that means it is a full time reenactment unit during the events. Just like US or German units are.

Our group is involved in the hobby of historical reenacting as stated above. One of our primary activities is re-creating battles fought in the Pacific Theatre, by wearing reproduction uniforms, equipment and using blank firing weapons during mock battles. These events are usually on a small to large unit level, and are held on both Military reservations and private property.

Our group attends multiple reenactments and tactical battles each year along the east coast. Members also participate in living history displays at Military shows, air shows and parades, and also participate in School Educational programs. In addition.

We do monthly meetings where the unit does practice drills, maneuvers, historical studies, Infantry skills, meet new recruits and socialize with other members. This is also where potential members may come and meet with us. The 8th Rentai.

We hope you will join! The members of the 8th Regiment consist of people wanting to preserve history, whose aim is to also portray the professional and highly-quality trained infantryman of the Imperial Japanese Army as seen in the 2nd Sino-Japanese War and the Second World War.

We Honor All WWII Veterans.
