WWI GERMAN BELT AND BUCKLE
« on: July 18, 2011, 02:42:22 PM »
Hi,

I would like to know where I can find a copy of the M. 1895 or M. 1911 sabre-belt (tanned) worn by the mannschaften (other ranks) of the German mounted troops at the beginning of the First World War. If you know an equipment vendor who offer this item, would you be so kind as to let me know?

I am not familiar with this item, but the only place I know of that might have it would be http://www.prussianglory.com/

''PRUSSIAN GLORY MILITARIA'' do not have a repro of the M.1895 or M.1911 sabre-belt but the repro headdresses offer by them are really superb!

Thanks Hoffmann!

For my unit, the 2nd Chevauleger, I pretty much had them made up custom. I didn't bother with the sword straps since we do a 1917-18 impression and by that time swords had been withdrawn from use (1915).
