Michael McAvoy, 84th Highlanders F&I, R.I.P.

If you knew Mike you knew a fellow who took his reenacting & living history seriously, had a great sense of humor and was widely known.

Mike died suddenly about a week ago, the details I still do not know all of, but he passed away near his home north of Baltimore. Many a time I set up my War of 1812 / Crimean War displays near the 84th guys. They are a decent bunch. Mike had a gigantic brain and a very pleasent personality so it was easy for him to engage people and educate on military history.

R.I.P. Mike, Johnnie, 93rd Highlanders.
