Info for New historic merchants
« on: January 11, 2008, 10:39:17 AM »
On one of the Renfair forums I put together this list, and I thought it might be worth sharing. It's primarily Renfair and SCA related, but does anyone have similar links for other eras that they can add?

Historic merchants online discussion groups.
A Yahoo group for Renfair merchants
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/renfairemerchants/ (A fairly exclusive merchants-only list))

There's a Myspace group Renaissance Marketplace. But it's relatively low traffic and mainly a place to post Renaissance Faire, SCA, and LARP related classified ads. Ebay, commercial sites, auctions, and personal sales.

Tribe.net has a group called Boothies: "Do you own a booth at Renaissance Faire or other type craft fairs & festivals? Do you work in one now or would you like to? A tribe for boothies for networking, hiring & sharing." But again it's fairly low volume http://boothies.tribe.net/

There's a sca_merchants groups on Yahoo at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sca_merchants/

Ren Venders group on Renspace.com http://renvendors.renspace.com/

Free ad, or link sites targeted at Ren, SCA or reenactor market

The SCRIBE was the first big online source of info on Renfaires and still archives interesting discussions

Shouldn't leave out Smoke and Fire News http://smoke-fire.com a and its listings of a wide range of historic-themed events for various eras from Medieval to 20th century.
