Title: Historically correct Coat Pattern
Post by: AdamB on September 19, 2007, 11:34:42 PM
Hi all I need help in finding a good historically correct coat and waist coat pattern. I am new to Rev war reenacting and I want to be correct. I have one called Willamsburg. Is that a good one or should I get a new better pattern. Any help would be great? thanks.

Well, if you have a unit in mind to join up with, most have a pattern they use as their particular uniform "issue".  You could check with them & see if they have a loaner pattern for you to use. Aside from that, I don't know if there are any commercially available military patterns for Rev War out there.  There are some F&I era patterns that are adaptable for either military or civilian, so there may be some for Rev War....haven't seen any myself, tho......
