Battle of North Point 1812
« on: September 01, 2012, 02:00:24 PM »
Sunday Sept 2, 2012, east of Baltimore take I-695 to MD158, look for North Point Rd, event is at Fort Howard Park, 10-4. Best spectator parking - come early.

That bombardment of Fort McHenry that we British tried didn't come off well at all for His Majesty's forces, so myself, the Royal Marine Light Infantry, Royal Marine Light Artillery and other infantry will try to find a land route into Baltimore.

This is battle where our General Ross will meet his maker, shot by some youngster hiding in a tree who himself would not survive the Battle of North Point. It was Gen. Ross who whipped the Americans at Bladensburg and it was Gen. Ross troops who set the torch to the American White House. See ya'll there !

Cheers, Johnnie, 2 Bn RMLI 1812-1815.
