I don't really see a point to this. Unless a reenactor is one of the dreaded "freelancers" running around alone at events, he can always look to his unit for information about events. A unit commander will always know what events are within driving distance and what kind of reputation they have. Also, I would think anyone who would find that page would also know about this and other forums and e-mail lists where these events are discussed. I would expect this new site to be just another venue to sling mud at events and event hosts for one political BS reason or another. I think it is no coincidence that the person behind this site isn't attaching his name to it anywhere. Just another way for someone with an agenda to stir the pot, in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong.

See both sides of it really.

Pro's: central location instead of 50+ email groups and forums

Con's: risk of becoming political and too much mudslinging

Think if who is doing it does it right and not allow that type of BS then it might actually work. Look at the Vendors Ratings page, always use it before I purchase from someone I am not sure of.
