Another hobby of me is collecting historical postcards and photos of warships of the imperial german navy (mainly Dreadnoughts and Battlecruisers)!

This is the 40.000-tons-dock of the imperial navy dockyard in Kiel.
The ship is the first german battlecruiser, S.M.S. Von der Tann, launched 1909.

From this dock i have 6 or 8 pictures with different ships.

S.M.S. Goeben. This ship was part of the german mediterranean sea division and was sold to Turkey at beginning of the war. Turkish name:Sultan Yavuz Selim (later only Yavuz). It was scrapped in 1973.

The ship received 24 artillery and a torpedo hit during the battle!  Also over 5000 t. water in the ship, reached the Seydlitz the home port - with 98 dead ones on board! In the background left above one recognizes the heavily damaged large cruiser Derfflinger (17 direct hits!) and in the neighbour on the right a battleship of the " Kaiser" - Class.

The internment in Scapa flow 1918/19, which ended with the self sinking of the German fleet. In the picture the flagship of the internment fleet, S.M.S. Friedrich Der Gro?e as well as the fleet flagship S.M.S. Baden.
