 Purposes of our Organization

Our purpose is to portray, as authentically as possible, a standard World War Two German Army Infanterie Unit. This unit is the 3rd Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 226 of the 79. Infanterie-Division (3./J.R. 226). This portrayal is based upon proper drill, tactics, strategies, uniforms and equipment, through a first person impression (meaning the member has a plausible and researched persona). Unit members learn, to a reasonable degree, German military terms, phrases and commands.

Marching in their boots, singing their songs, riding in their vehicles, fighting with their weapons in their uniforms, and employing their tactics, we can more easily understand these men's experiences.

The German Army of WWII was probably the hardest fighting, best trained, best led, and most flexible army the world has ever fielded. They were the ones who developed modern maneuver warfare, so called "Blitzkrieg", where they combined arms to effectively defeat the enemy at the tactical and operational level. They were the first to effectively combine tactical air, artillery, and tanks at the tactical level and parachuters, gliders, air, and maneuver units at the operational level. Today we still use these tactics developed and perfected by "a bunch of dead Germans".

PDer Alte Hase und die Grünschnabel!olitically, the Nazis were an evil administration, but the common German frontline soldier (Landser) was a very patriotic citizen motivated to destroy Communism. Later their motivation was to protect Germany from the Russians and fight for their Kameraden. The German mindset is different from ours in the United States and to think of their motivation through our societal structure is not objective - you must be able to see through their eyes and their rationale.

It is through their eyes and mindset that we strive to learn from them. We do not judge, just portray and learn. In turn, we teach what we learn as objectively as possible so that others may learn and make their own judgments. It takes an open mind!
