WWI, give 'er a try!
« on: February 09, 2007, 12:14:27 AM »
Of all the time periods out there, WWI is one of the neatest. As it was originally founded it was the "Reenactor's Reenactment" and for the most part, still is. It's not done for the publick, just for the reenactors. Why? Why not!? Anyway, wanna look at a WWI unit? Mine is at ir23.org. A good Allied unit is at 67th co.

Marsh,
thanks for the 67th Co plug!  ;D. I agree I've just got the WWI fever, and i put together the 67th Co website recently. I'd love to get more people involved. the French Kit looks awesome!!! i'd love to see more KuK reenactors too.

Depends on what you want to do? Triple Alliance or Entente (BEF, French, AEF, Russian). All head to Newville twice a year plus one or two unit sponsored events as well at the same location.

It really doesn't matter too much to me what side it is, I was just hoping maybe there was a unit nearby that I could speak with about it.

Ok, what nationality do you want to know more about? This way I can send you some links on units. Do know the Central powers would like to see more people.

Well, my great-granddaddy was in the AEF in the Meuse-Argonnes, so I would be interested to hear from the Ami's, but then I'm also used to doing Bosch, so Germans/Austrians would be good too.  Then again, if there are Brits and Frenchies in the area, I wouldn't mind hearing from them.

Jim,

Go to this thread for the link to the GWA site with the units. I'm in the 80th Division AEF which has members primarily in VA and GA.
